Rebecca reaches into her robe, pulling out her phone. When she opens it up, I look down quick enough to see it’s a text, stealthy enough to also see it’s from Fucker Felix.

Fury thunders through me, but I stay calm at the surface, knowing whatever needs to be settled with this piece of shit cannot be done inside this bathroom with her.

I told him to stay the fuck away from this girl, and it’s obvious he’s got a death wish.

Rebecca closes the phone without replying, then stuffs the device back in her pocket, still waiting for my response.

It’s too late. I’m too angry to give her anything.

All I can see now is a river of red.

And Felix’s body drowning in it.

“Well, if you have nothing to say, I’m going back to my room.” She pauses, adding, “Alone.”

I look for any change in her voice, excitement that Felix texted her, discomfort, anything. There’s nothing but resolve.

And usual abhorrence for me.

Rebecca seems surprised by my lack of fight as she makes her way over to the door, but doesn’t even look back as she exits into the hallway.

Yes, I’m allowing her to leave this time.

To think she ended the conversation.

But only because she just waged another/different war.

The locker room is almost empty by the time I reach it, the trek here taking longer than expected since I had to stop and tell Alexis to fuck off in the girls common room. The last thing I need when I’m blinded with rage is a needy, whiny, brat looking for my attention or for me to stick my cock in her back hole.

Only a couple stragglers are left getting dressed after practice, along with the janitor cleaning out the garbage pails. I breeze past the rows of lockers and coach Balkan’s office, where, as usual, Saint is sitting in there going over offensive strategies with him. Without taking his eyes off the coach, Saint holds up a finger for me, as if he’s the reason I’m being subjected to seeing a defensive lineman’s bare ass.

Turning toward the showers, I make a quick left to where the sauna and bath are, my boot colliding with the door, making it fly open.

There lies Felix Crimson, in the middle of the room, submerged in the ice bath. He jumps from his position, looking back to find me standing in the doorway.

His eyes widen when he notices my expression, and I don’t give him the chance to speak before I’m at his side with my hands around his throat.

“What the fuck did I tell you?” I seethe, tightening my fingers around his carotid.

“Get off me you piece of shit.” He chokes out, right before I dunk his entire head under the water.

He struggles, trying like hell to loosen my grip, but I’m too strong and too furious.

I pull him out of the water. “I’ll try this again, what the fuck did I tell you about staying away from the new girl?”

“Wasn’t listening, maybe you should repeat it.” He spits in my direction, earning another plunge.

This time as he’s under the icy water, Felix attempts to reach for my neck to pull me in with him.

I’m quick and rear my head back, leaving him kicking and swinging to get me off him.

I lift his head out of the water for the second time, and Felix gasps for breath, his face blue from the cold and lack of oxygen.
