The name Saint definitely stands out, since it’s hard to miss, so I’m pretty sure I shared a class with him today but can’t put a finger on which one.

Not that it matters, I’m sure he’s one of the assholes torturing me.

“I’m gonna pass on the party, but thanks,” I say, deflated.

Moments fly by before Hendrix growls at my side, then bursts, “The fuck you are!” Gripping me by my shoulders, she spins me to face her. “Fuck them. Fuck him. Fuck Alexis. We go on principle, and I will make sure you are the hottest bitch walking into that motherfucker on Saturday.” Hendrix raises her chin. “Every guy will wanna fuck you and every girl will wanna be you.”

“Heck, I’d fuck her right now.” Sampson says with a nonchalant shrug of his shoulders, which Hendrix ignores while Archer shoves him.

Is every guy here this forward?

I’m looking down as Hendrix says, “You were right, Bex. No retaliating, not in the physical sense.”

I pull my eyes up to meet hers. “What sense are you talking then? Because it clearly isn’t common sense if you’re suggesting we walk straight into the lion’s den practically naked.”

Licking her lips, excitement brightens her hazel eyes as she says, “By not hiding, Bex. That’s the only way we fucking win.”

“Missed you today, jerk-off. You disappeared after lunch.” Saint tosses his football at me, slamming our door behind him. “You didn’t even show up to practice to cheer me on.” He approaches me pouting as I lay on my bed, then shoves my legs over so he can sit.

“Had things to do...” I stare up at the ceiling, hands situated behind my head.

“That you did…” I ignore the judgment in his tone. “You and Alexis gave the California girl quite the warm welcome.”

It takes everything in my power not to growl with the mention of this fucking girl, Rebecca.Bex for short.

As she so sweetly explained to that nosey bastard, Beckett.

“Fuck her.” I sit up, reaching for the switchblade in my jeans.

“Who? Alexis? OrBex.” He says her name through a wry grin. Making it a point to show he’s more than noticed how good she looks.

Which isn’t surprising because it’s impossible to miss.

Rebecca has the kind of beauty you don’t only see butfeelright down to your bone marrow. I know because I felt it. It’s also the kind that sends armies of men to war.

Or crashing into cars.

“Both of ‘em.” I flip the knife open, pressing the tip of my thumb against the pointy side, drawing a small dot of blood.

Saint watches with curiosity as I rub the red liquid between my fingers.

There’s a stretch of silence before he says, “She’s in our lab class too, you know. The one you decided to bail on.” He licks his lips. “Girl’s gorgeous, but clearly ruffled by the stunts today. Surprised she didn’t try to dip after what you and Annalie did at lunch.”

That bitch Annalie is always doing Alexis’ dirty work, so I’m not surprised she sent the new girl face planting onto a plate of spaghetti. She’s so desperate for Alexis’ approval, she’ll lick the bottom of her Bottega heels if it means staying relevant.

“Shit was hilarious,” I lie, remembering how much it struck a nerve when Archer swooped in to her rescue…again.

Always the fucking good guy.

Anger rumbles through me, and I don’t know why. It’s not the first time Archer interfered with shit that isn’t his business. So why did the image of the ass kisser comforting Rebecca make me want to throttle him?

“Archer seems to be taking her under his wing. No surprise there,” Saint adds as an afterthought.
