Page 90 of Ruthless Commander
He collapsed beside me, sucking in gulps of air until he managed. “You okay?”
I waited for a second, then met his stare. “Yes.”
He rolled onto his side and rested his head on his hand. “Ready to talk now?”
I smiled, that delicious feeling stealing the fight right out of me. “I’m ready to sleep.”
“Figures.” He muttered, giving me a smile and reaching around my waist to drag me closer. “You just don’t have the stamina you used to.”
“Listen here, old man.”
“Old, huh?” He thrust his softened cock against my thigh. “Do I need to fuck you again to curb that tongue?”
I closed my eyes as a wave of exhaustion swamped the euphoria and dragged me slowly into darkness. “If you do…just don’t wake me.”
My words were a mumble. That exhaustion was undeniable as it reached out, spread its wings around me, and swallowed me down. I slept, curled against his body, safe and protected, like I always felt when I was with him.
There was no fighting.
No guns.
No men coming for me.
Just nothingness.
Just…

Beep.
I surfaced.
Beep.
Darkness waited when I cracked open my eyes. Deep snores ceased beside me.
Beep.
The bed dipped as he rolled to reach for his phone. I felt the movement and turned to see the muted backlight of his phone.
“Mateo?”
He pushed upwards, staring at the screen…not saying a thing. That worried me more than anything. I rose as fear pushed the darkness away. “Talk to me.”
He lifted the phone, listening. But I knew something was wrong. There was no recording, no sound that came through the speaker, no voice on the other end of the line.
“He’s in trouble.”
That’s all he said.
“Who?”
He rose from the bed and walked to the bathroom. “My brother.”
