Page 20 of Ruthless Commander
This is a fucking mistake.
In and out…in and out.
This. Was. A. Mistake.
I let out a growl, savage and desperate, as I fucked the need for Mateo from my body…
My core clenched, my fingers pressing along each side of my clit as I drew out the orgasm. Shudders tore through me as I came down from the high, sliding my fingers from my pants. But I wasn’t wet. I hadn’t been wet in the last goddamn year.
The shrink said it was all in my head, that somehow that day had affected me physically. I was determined to fuck him wrong. Turned out he knew what he was saying, and I walked out of his office, never to go back. Fuck him…and fuck Mateo Ristani.
I jolted as we dipped lower and lower, the engine of the jet roaring until the wheels touched down. I grabbed my iPods and placed them into my ears once more. I grabbed my purse as the jet headed for the separate hanger, bypassing the commercial arrivals.
Rhys was there beside me as the jet came to a stop and the engine powered down to a dull roar. He gave a yawn, then stepped up. “I’ll meet the driver and grab your bags.”
I just gave a nod. My father had been insistent on a damn bodyguard, and as much as I was loath to draw attention, I gave in. I wasn’t the only one who’d changed in the last year. My father’s warehouses had been attacked, and even our house had been firebombed, making us leave the city and escape to our house in the country.
Things were bad. So bad, barely a word was spoken after I came back home carrying my shattered heart in my hands. Instead, my father only cared that I was alive…and home. He didn’t even ask where I’d been or who I’d been with. No one cared, which hurt more.
If there had been yelling and screaming and threats and demands, I might’ve felt a little better.
At least I’d know the brutality of what I’d been going through was for a reason.
But it hadn’t been.
It hadn’t been for anything at all.
Only at his whim…
I winced and strode out of the jet as Kilkivan stepped through the cockpit’s door. Xaelhe mouthed, and licked his lips, his gaze moving to my hand…my fingers, to be exact. I didn’t need a confession to know he'd watched me finger myself. I hoped he'd enjoyed the show.
I left him behind and made my way down the stairs, my boots hitting the tarmac hard. Rhys waved me forward, toward the hangar. I followed him out, making for a small door in the private terminal.
Cool, airconditioned air hit me as I stepped through, leaving the tropical heat behind. Darkness descended as my eyes adjusted to the sudden change and before I could slow my steps, I smacked into something hard.
I stumbled sideways before strong hands grabbed me.
“Shit,” the shadow behind those hands muttered.
I lifted my gaze to the man wearing black aviator sunglasses, in mid-stride and oblivious to those around him.
“Sorry.” He glanced at his grip around my arm and released me, smoothing out my black leather jacket as he did so.
He was gorgeous, with full lips, kind brown eyes, and an awkward smile. Totally not my type. I lowered my gaze, taking in the hard, strong chest behind the tight black t-shirt he wore. “It’s fine.”
“No, I’m an idiot, fucking up my first goddamn command.”
I smiled at that. “Unless the command is walk without barging into people, I’d say you just fi—“ I started…and stopped.
Across the waiting room, he stood…Mateo Ristani.
“They’ll be arriving any minute,” he growled at two men dressed in the same black tees and tight black khakis, only those two were armed to the teeth. “Security is our main concern, do I make myself clear?”
“Hey,” the stranger that'd smacked into me murmured. “You okay?”
I couldn’t nod, couldn’t move, dimly aware that I stood in the middle of the doorway of the arrivals with the door opening and closing behind me.
He was there…
