Page 70 of Reckless Knight (Knight's Ridge Empire 7)
He lowers me to my feet, and I hop back and forth as the ice water on the floor damn near burns my feet.
“Hurry,” I whisper, wrapping my arms around myself as my goosebumps get goosebumps.
In a flash, he throws the lid of the hot tub back, and steam billows up into the night sky.
“Yes,” I hiss, racing forward and stepping into the bubbling water. “Aren’t you joining me?” I ask, looking over my shoulder when the water is at my waist and finding him standing there, watching me.
“I’m not a fucking imbecile, Jodie. Of course I’m getting in. Just give me a minute. I’ll be back,” he says cryptically and rushes back into the house.
“Okay,” I sigh, finally sinking all the way under the soothing water.
Resting my head back on the side, I stare up at the dark sky and twinkling stars and let go of the lingering anger, disappointment and betrayal from my interaction with Matt earlier.
I didn’t do it. I’ve never stolen a penny from that place. From anywhere.
If he doesn’t trust me, then that has to be on him, not me.
The knot in my belly begins to loosen and my muscles relax.
I never could have imagined this when I announced I wanted to get out of London, but it’s exactly what I needed.
This nothingness. This escape.
Guilt worms its way through my veins as I think about Mum sitting at home alone. She’d have loved it here. And she needs it just as much as I do.
My thoughts are cut off when the whoosh of the sliding door cuts through the silence around me, and when I look up I find the most incredible sight before me.
“Whoa, you’ve really pulled out all the stops, huh?” I ask as a still shirtless Toby lowers a tray to the side of the tub that contains a bottle of what I can only assume is obscenely expensive champagne with two glasses and a plate of fancy charcuterie. And as if that wasn’t enough, he then digs into his pocket and reveals a baggie of weed and a pre-rolled joint.
My eyes widen and my mouth waters. For all of it.
“You look like a kid who’s just been shown a lifetime supply of sweets,” Toby says with amusement.
“I have. Alcohol, food, weed, and you. What more could a girl need?”
“There’s the question,” he deadpans as he pops the button on his jeans and pushes them and his boxers down over his hips.
“O-oh,” I laugh. “That’s right. You naked.“
I take my time running my eyes down his insane body, trying not to focus on how much pain he must actually be in before they lock on his hard length. My teeth sink into my bottom lip as I remember exactly how he tastes.
The magnetic pull between us has me moving across the tub until I’m in front of him, his cock bobbing an inch from my lips.
Unable to stop myself, I stick my tongue out and lick up the precum that’s already beading at the tip.
“Shit, baby. You really are a demon. Can’t even wait for me to— fuck,” he barks when I take him in my mouth fully.
I bob back and forth, my tongue teasing his head every time I pull back, and I hold his eyes the entire time. It’s not until his hand lifts and presses against his ribs that I realise what I’m doing.
This guy makes me so fucking dick drunk, I forget my own damn name.
“Shit, I’m sorry. You need to get in.”
“Never apologise for sucking my cock,” he states so seriously that I can’t help but laugh.
“Sit on the edge,” I demand, taking charge for once. “You’re not getting in until you come down my throat.”
His eyes widen at my crass words, and his throat ripples with a harsh swallow.
