“Wait… what?”
“Boss is sending us to their fucking warehouse.”
“Why the fuck would be want to go there?”
“To help keep the peace. They’re expecting trouble.”
“Great,” I mutter, although I can’t deny the fire burning in the bit of my stomach isn’t getting hotter and hotter by the minute.
Getting in the middle of a Wolves war could be exactly what I need tonight.
“I’m pulling in now.”
“We’ll meet you down there. No need to change.”
The line cuts as I indicate to turn toward our building.
Right as I pull into my space, the others, Stella and Emmie included, burst through the door.
“Where’s Calli?” I ask, knowing it’ll rub Nico up the wrong way.
“She ain’t partying in Lovell. I might let her hang out with you motherfuckers now, but that’s a step too fucking far.”
Stella and Emmie roll their eyes.
“We’re gonna pick her up on the way,” Emmie announces, making the vein in Nico’s temple pulsate.
“Get in, Hellcat,” Theo demands, holding his passenger door open for his wife.
“Jesus, you’re so whipped,” Nico mutters, looking utterly horrified as Theo leans in and drops a kiss to her lips.
“Leave them alone, asshole,” Stella snaps, slapping him around the back of his head. “They’re cute.”
“Fucking sickening, more like.”
“Get in the fucking car, Nico,” Theo growls.
With a sigh, he finally falls into line and rips Theo’s back door open.
Turning on my heels, I opt for Seb’s car, hoping that with him driving I might get lucky and not have to watch him do anything inappropriate to my sister. They’ve got form when it comes to cars, after all.
Alex follows my lead and drops into the seat on the other side of me.
“Who got his knickers in a twist?”
A smirk plays on my lips. He’s been like a bear with a sore head all week. I’m pretty fucking sure I know why, too.
“He’s met a girl who doesn’t take his shit,” I happily announce, feeling no guilt whatsoever after he sold me out to Stella about Hades at the weekend.
