Story: Read the Room

He’d been with his son’s mother since he was twenty-two, and they had been married for the last four years.

I glanced over at him. “How about we take a quick trip across the pond? Bring Simone, so y’all can stay a little longer. I’m sure Mama Bee will watch the kid.”

Sully rubbed his hands together because he knew nothing good would come of this trip for Alexi, and he was right.

My only thought on the plane ride there would be whether I would kill her there, wait until she got back to the states to kill her, or let her live in her own despair of broke bitch.

Carlos wasn’t going to make it back to the states.

That would be an additional gift for GeGi. Yeah, she fucked up.

A Quick Trip Across the Pond…

Sully, Simone, and I were on a flight to Paris, France the next morning.

My stay would only be one day while Simone and Sully’s was for a week.

Simone was so excited to go and suggested that I cut my losses and murk Alexi.

One thing that I loved about my sister-in-law was that she was just as gutter as my bro Sully.

She didn’t play about her family and had never liked Alexi.

Much like Mama Bee, Simone had let Alexi know that shortly after meeting her.

That should have been my reason right there to let her go.

The two women connected to me didn’t vibe with her.

I got a lot done the night before we left for Paris.

I was able to get all of Alexi’s shit out of my house with the help of a service and took it to her mother’s house.

She didn’t talk to her mama like that. In fact, her mother was blocked on her phone.

I removed her access from my credit cards and took all my money out of the bank account with the exception of her four thousand dollars.

I hoped the hotel already took their payment. Her flight was paid for in full.

By the time we got to the hotel in Paris, which was the same hotel that Alexi and her friends were at, I made sure to get a room on her floor.

Alexi had been blowing my phone up since earlier.

I guess she realized that her cards weren’t working any longer.

My phone vibrated on the table in the living room of my suite. Speak of the whoring devil.

“What’s up, baby?”

“Lo’ak, something is wrong with my credit cards and bank account. Earlier, I went to purchase a bag that was a little over six thousand dollars , and all of my cards declined.” There was panic in her tone. She had already been here for a few days before I got here.

“Damn, six thousand dollars! You sure you just didn’t spend all your money? You’ve been there for a few days, and I know how you spend money, Alexi.”

Based on the money she got from me, she didn’t have the money to purchase a six-thousand-dollar bag.

She huffed. “I have two credit cards that both have limits over five-hundred thousand dollars! There’s no way I spent that much money.”

“You mean I have two credit cards. You don’t have shit,” I said coolly. “I told you not to use those fuckin’ credit cards, so I shut those shits off.”

At the time that I was on the phone with her, I texted to get confirmation of whether she was in her room with that nigga. I wanted to get this shit over with. I had a flight to catch the next day.

“Why the hell would you do that! I didn’t think you were serious! Even with that, I don’t have any money in my damn account,” she ranted.

I shrugged my shoulders like she could see me. “Well, shit! I don’t know what to tell you. You might want to change your flight and head home. I hope you have enough money to pay that hotel bill because those folks over there will lock you up for not paying that shit.”

I smiled when I got the conformation that she was in her room with that nigga. I texted Sully to come to my room so we could get this shit going. I felt his enthusiasm in his text response about what was about to go down potentially.

“Are you fuckin’ serious, Lo’ak! I’m in Paris, not Miami or some shit! I’m out of the damn country!”

Aww, she was mad, mad. I wish I could have cared about her anger, but I simply didn’t have the fucks.

“I’m not sure why you didn’t think to budget better. I told you not to use those credit cards, but you love thinking that I’m playing with your ass. This will be one of the best lessons for you, Alexi, to understand that the money I put in your account is a privilege for your do-nothing ass. ”

“Lo’ak Jordan, I promise you that if you don’t put money in my account or turn on one of these credit cards, we are done! You will not do this to me! Are you serious right now?”

Look at her making demands like I took her damn money.

“Aww, you promise?” I repeated myself after she said an unbelievable excuse me.

“Excuse me?” she asked incredulously.

“Alexi, don’t threaten me like your pussy has that much damn power. It doesn’t, lil baby. You played with it , and now , you can figure out how to get out of it.”

My disconnection from the line interrupted her foul language. Seconds later, Sully and Simone were in my suite. Simone’s stupid ass had been practicing her French accent the entire way here. She wanted to be the one to go to the door as the staff member.

“Y’all ready?”

Alexi’s room was eight rooms down from my suite. The closer Sully, Simone, and I got to her room, you could hear her yelling. You could also hear other females voices as well as a male who referenced her as baby. I chuckled when I heard Carlos tell her fuck my bitch ass.

Simone stepped to the side of the door, cleared her throat then knocked. With her best French accent, she said, “Miss Simons, may I have a word about your card on file, mademoiselle? It is very urgent.”

There was shuffling behind the door before Alexi’s voice could be heard.

Seconds later, she opened the door widely.

Snap! Yeah, I had my camera out to take a snapshot of her expression when she saw me.

When her brain caught up to the bullshit that she was in, she tried to close the door in my face. Stupidity still lived there.

“Aye, Alexi, why the crass reception?” I asked as I walked into the room.

Snap! Another photo for the books at Carlos’s expression.

“Carlos, my man, I didn’t expect to see you here. Who you here with?” I looked around. “Where’s GeGi?”

Alexi stepped forward. “Baby, what are you doing here?” She went into her best character of trifling bitch. With a fake ass smile, she said, “Is that why you were being an asshole on the phone? You were here to surprise me?”

Meka and Carmela sat on the couch in the suite next to each other with snarky smirks on their faces. It seemed more and more like Alexi’s friend group didn’t care for her. Regina George was about to be banned from the table. Her ass had on sweats.

“Nah, I asked Carlos what you doing here?” He sat there like his ass didn’t speak English. I glared at every person in the room. “No one has an answer?”

Alexi again decided to be the spokesperson when she really should have shut up.

“He’s here with Meka, baby.” She shifted her body in Meka’s direction. “Tell him, Meka.”

Meka’s smirk widened. “Yeah, no. He’s not here with me,” she said with a giggle. “I came here alone, and I’ve been here alone.” She pointed at Carmela. “Mela, this you?”

“Oh, no. He is not here with me, best friend,” Mela responded. “I came here alone just like you. Alexi, he gotta be here for you.”

Her bright face and wide eyes showed all of her shock that her little friends didn’t have her back. Oh, the mutiny.

“Are y’all serious right now? Y’all are playing.”

“Carlos, my man, I know you’re fuckin’ my bitch, well, ex-bitch. Now, I’m confused, because last I checked, GeGi was your girl,” I said to him. “Notice, I said was your girl, because just like my relationship, y’all’s is a wrap too.”

That got a reaction from Carlos. “What the hell do you mean , was my girl? GeGi ain’t going nowhere.”

I glared at this man for a moment. My attention quickly shifted to Alexi’s reaction to his words; she didn’t seem pleased. I would address that shit later. I moved over to Meka and Carmela. I pulled a wad of money out of my pocket that was already split.

“Ladies, here’s twenty bands for each of you. You can both choose to stay longer or go back home, but I advise you to get the hell out of here.”

“You don’t have to tell us but once,” Meka said. She stood followed closely by Carmela. They grabbed their knots of money. “I wish you the best, bitch.”

Meka gave Alexi her parting words, which made Simone laugh.

“Alexi, you can take a seat, sweetheart,” I told her. “Sit by your man. Go ahead.”

With a defiant stare and crossed arms over her chest, she said, “Well, I guess I need to sit next to you.” She pointed at Carlos. “That nigga is not my man. He’s GeGi’s ‘not going anywhere’ man.”

When Simone laughed then uttered this bitch, Alexi’s attention went to her.

“Bitch, shut the fuck up.”

I cringed then closed my eyes. They didn’t need to be open to know what came next. The sound of a punch and a scream let me know Simone popped the hell out of Alexi. She had been waiting to do that for a while.

“Sit your ass down like he said, bitch.”

Alexi finally sat down with a bloodied nose.

“Tsk, tsk, tsk.” I shamed her. “The entire flight, I thought about how I was going to handle this—to kill them both or not.”

Alexi scooted forward in her seat. “Ki-kill! What do you mean? This isn’t worth killing for, Lo’ak! Yes, we were messing around, but you were neglecting me.”

Carlos’s jaw tightened. “Yeah, her pussy definitely isn’t worth dying over. She was passing it out, so I partook. I’m not the only nigga out there partaking in her loose lower lips.” He tittered. “I mean, AK, you have to admit—what nigga wouldn’t fuck ya girl if she gave them the chance?”

“Yo, is this nigga serious?” Sully asked. “There is no way that dummy just said that shit. We stray every day from the gates of heaven.”
