Sailor must have felt me staring, because she glanced my way.
“Excuse me, gentlemen.”
“Fuck, don’t kill him,” Vasili grumbled. “Isabella won’t be happy about it. He’s babysitting for us this weekend.”
Setting my glass on a nearby table, I headed straight for my wife.
ChapterThirty-Six
SAILOR
The champagne was getting to me, setting my insides aflame. Or maybe it was the glances my new husband sent my way. They were like a warm caress on my skin and felt better than the light ocean breeze against my skin.
Throughout the whole dinner, I was aware of his eyes full of promises and for the first time ever, it didn’t send fearful shivers down my spine. And that scared me more than anything.
“What’s the matter?” Aurora asked, leaning closer to me as her arm looped through mine. Willow mimicked the movement on my other side. The three of us walked together towards the dancing area.
“Are you looking forward to having him screw your brains out?” Willow remarked, her eyes twinkling with amusement.
I stiffened slightly. It wasn’t exactly that I was inexperienced, but I’d never gone all the way.
It was the reason my on-again, off-again relationship with Aaron worked. He never pressured me, and I let Aurora and Willow believe that I was sexually active, when in truth, it freaked me out whenever Aaron touched me. Since he preferred not to touch me, it worked perfectly.
Except, how do you explain that to your best friends? Hey, I'm a twenty-five-year-old virgin because the thought of going all the way was a mindfuck of epic proportions. Oh and by the way, my father had been raping my older sister for as long as I could remember.
And I hadn’t done anything to protect her. Goddamn it!
“Sailor, what is it?” Aurora tugged on my arm.
I sighed. “I’m worried about later.”
They both blinked, staring at me with a confused expression.
“Later?” Willow questioned.
“Yeah, if he tries to sleep with me,” I grumbled. Really, did she need everything spelled out?
Both their eyes darted in the direction of my new husband, then back to me. “You mean because he’s so hot?” She waved her hand and before I had a chance to comment, she continued, “Don’t worry. You’re hot too. So two fires just make it hotter.”
I couldn’t help rolling my eyes.
“I’m worried because I haven’t gone all the way before,” I hissed in a low tone. My agitation must have been evident on my face because my husband and his friends kept their curious gazes on us.
Aurora let out a sardonic breath. “What do you mean? You and Aaron have been dating on and off for ages.”
I wanted to pull my hair in frustration, but it’d ruin my hair style. “We. Never. Went. All. The. Way.” Frustration flickered in my chest and my cheeks went hot with it. “I don’t know how much clearer I can be.”
The words tumbled from my mouth and with the admission, relief came. Willow was the most sexual out of the three of us and sometimes it was exhausting to pretend.
Yet, as they both stared at me right now, I wondered if maybe I should have just kept the words to myself. My cheeks must be stained crimson by now and suddenly my beautiful silver white wedding dress felt so damn heavy, I was tempted to take it off.
“Jesus Christ, you should tell him,” Aurora whispered. “How did we not pick up on it? And I’m a damn FBI profiler.”
“No, no, you shouldn’t tell him,” Willow protested, then turned to look at Aurora. “I guess you’re not that great at profiling. After all, that man you’re dating is psychotic. Even now, I can feel him staring us down, ready to attack.”
Aurora’s eyes darted to Alexei again and she smiled softly, then returned her attention to us. “He’s the best psychopath and he’s mine. Don’t be jealous you can’t find one, Willow.”
I groaned softly. “You two drive me nuts sometimes.”
