“Gabriel?” I hissed. Did she fucking leave me?
“He’s not… “ He trailed off, staring at me. “He’s still at the house.”
If Gabriel was still at the house, that meant someone took Sailor. She’d never leave him behind. I’d stake my life on that. But on the other hand, the meaning of that statement hit me hard.
“Someone took her,” I hissed. “She’d never leave him behind.”
He nodded.
“When was the last time someone saw her?” My anger clawed at my chest. My blood boiled. But I had to keep a cool head. I had to find my wife. “Three hours ago. She went to the beach and never came back.”
“Who’s the traitor?” I’d clean out all my fucking men, until I find the fucker who thought betraying me was a good idea.
“Beatrice.”
Fuck! So much for giving people a second chance in life. That bitch better hide because when I get my hands on her, she’d be a dead bitch. Caine must have read my expression, because he added, “They found her dead body on the beach.”
I couldn’t dwell on that bitch. She picked her side. Rage filled me at the thought of Sailor hurt. Who did she betray me to? Sailor’s father? Tijuana? Fucking who?
“They must have taken her by boat. Have Diego pull up all angles of surveillance.”
“He’s already on it.”

Hell.
I ruled it. Thrived in it even. But this was so much worse.
My reina was gone.
I stood in the middle of my mansion unable to breathe. Unable to move. I needed her. I hadn’t needed anything in such a long time, but I needed her.
The text message I just received was clear.
Santiago Tijuana and her father had her.
In one swift move, I hurled the phone across the room, and it shattered against the glass door of the display case. Pieces of glass flew across the marble floor.
All my senses were overpowered by fear.
Fear forher. Fear of losingher.
“I’ll kill every single one of those pinche cabrónes.” Fucking assholes.
Helpless. Scared.
I hadn’t felt this feeling in so long, it tasted different than I remembered it. It used to be connected to the well-being of my mother. Yet, this one felt so much worse. It had every muscle in my body twisted up in knots.
“Lo siento, Reina.”
I’d burn this motherfucking state to the ground. One way or another, I’d find her.
ChapterForty-Nine
SAILOR
I’d die here, I was certain. With nothing but darkness to swallow me whole.
