NOLAN

The brothers are sitting at the island as I prepare a late breakfast. Today is the day that DIK launches Hush Anonymous, and I need to be on campus in an hour. I’m looking forward to seeing this project go live. Poor Kylen is going to have gray hair until he sees that it’s working as he planned.

“So the key party is anonymous sex,” Orion says. “In the dark.”

“Absolute darkness,” I agree. “So, unless you offer your name, your identity is unknown.”

“But you know,” Skye points out.

“For safety reasons only, yes.”

“Like accountability in a fire,” Orion notes.

“Or like someone contracting an STI. Or accusations of some unsavory behavior. But yes, fires too.”

“Can you have multiple people enter the room?”

“Meaning?”

“Like you’re waiting inside, and two or three people join you for a groupie.”

I glance at him, raising a brow. “It’s not something that’s come up, but I happen to know that the Omegas and one of the sororities hold orgies all the time, so I’m not sure that’s necessary.”

“You’re missing the point,” Orion says. “Hush Anonymous is anonymous. In a way, they’re able to live out a fantasy, right?

These aren’t all necessarily out men who sign up.

Having their identities hidden means they’re able to get their needs met without having to be out in the world if they’re not comfortable.

What if guys want to try a groupie but they’re not comfortable going to an orgy where all those people are looking at you?

Remembering you’re there and who you touched. What you did.”

“Huh,” I say as I slap a piece of bread on top of a sandwich. “I didn’t consider that. I’ll bring it up to Kylen after this two-person dick down is running smoothly. He’s already stressed about it going off without a hitch.”

“Everyone needs a little hitch in their getting off,” Orion says. “I definitely like it and can’t wait to feel it again.”

My eyes meet his. There’s no mistaking what he’s getting at. There can’t be with the way he’s watching me. Skye shakes his head and sighs.

Tavis is standing behind both boys, leaning against the wall with his arms crossed. Amused. The results of his open-door experiment have been… interesting. Orion’s come-ons have been more frequent. Far more to the point.

Skye has turned quieter, which is saying something, since he’s always quiet, anyway. He flushes more easily. As if he’s remembering what he saw.

I’m convinced that both men saw. I’m equally convinced both men enjoyed what they saw.

I’m weirdly, maybe a little disturbingly, turned on by the whole thing. They liked watching their father fuck me. They enjoyed it. I wonder if they’d enjoy it as much to watch me fuck him.

I’ve realized something these last few weeks. Anytime I’ve had a partner, my brain stops making connections that someone else is attractive. It’s not intentional. Just something that happens. I can recognize if I find them hot or whatever, but there’s not generally a reaction in me.

That’s not the case regarding Orion and Skye. I am attracted to them. That attraction grows constantly. Every time Skye blushes. Every ridiculous hint and innuendo Orion makes. Every come-on. Every little flirt.

What makes it even more alluring is Tavis’ response. It’s as if he wants something to happen between me and his sons. This is likely the conversation we didn’t expand on in bed the other day as we prepared to give his boys a show.

I’m not sure what to make of this entire thing. But the hot, giddy, excited feeling in my core says I’m nervously awaiting whatever happens next. Who will make the next move? What is the next move?

I slide both men their sandwiches and then take a third, bringing it to Tavis. It’s clear Orion didn’t realize his father was there, watching and listening. Orion gives Tavis a sheepish smile.

“Nice,” Skye mutters, elbowing Orion.

I wrap my sandwich in a towel and kiss Tavis’ cheek. “Gotta go.”

“Want a ride?” he asks.

“Oh, I definitely want a ride.” I glance at Orion in time to see him lick his lips. “Later.”

Tavis grips my neck to hold me still so he can suck my breath from my body through a hot kiss. “Have fun making wet dreams come true,” he says, voice low and sexy.

I grin and wave to Skye and Orion, enjoying the flush on both of their cheeks as I head for the door, taking a big bite of my sandwich on the way.

My DIK ID gets me into the building we’re using for Hush. If this first event goes well, Kylen is set up to host a few more over the last week of school and finals.

I see him immediately with a phone in hand. It’s not his phone. With the black case attached to a handle, I can tell it’s one of DIK’s phones that we use to access the event apps.

Part of being eligible for membership into DIK is your course of study.

We always make sure that at least seventy-five percent of new members each year will be able to further some part of our fraternity, whether that be security, digital media, or environmental efficiency.

If you can prove that you in your field of study can be useful, you have a higher chance of moving onto becoming a pledge.

I like that. We’re about having fun, working hard, and shooting porn. But we’re also about staying current, reducing our carbon footprint, and being a supportive brotherhood to each other. It’s a good place to be.

“Oh good,” Kylen says when he sees me. There’s a look of relief as I approach. “You’re here.”

I wrap an arm around the back of his shoulders and pull him in for a hug. He sags against me. “Thanks,” he whispers.

“It’s going to be a lot of fun and go off without a hitch,” I assure him.

“How do you know that? I keep imagining the fire alarm going off right when everyone is balls deep.”

I laugh. “Wow. Because I choose to believe there won’t be any catastrophes. Put positive vibes into the world, Kylen.”

He takes a deep breath. I let him go, and he gives me a flushed smile. Sweet, sweet boy. How have I never noticed how often this man flushes before we got to college? Hmm. Interesting how similar he is to Skye.

“Ready?” Toby asks from the door. “Our first wave is beginning to show up.”

Kole appears out of nowhere to join me and Kylen. “Ready when you are.”

Kylen gives Toby a nod. “Let them in.”

There are three men who arrive first. I don’t recognize any of them by name, though one of the guys may be on the rugby team. Do we have a rugby team? We must, if I recognize him from it. Which also doesn’t make sense since I’ve never seen a game of rugby in my life.

Okay, not important.

Toby lets the maybe-rugby man pass once he has him all checked in. Kylen holds up a key with a pink ribbon on it, and Kole takes it. She greets maybe-rugby with a smile. “This way, sweetheart.”

The next man I don’t recognize at all. He’s tall and lanky with a spattering of tattoos peeking out of his collar. Kylen hands me the next key, this one with a purple ribbon.

“Follow me,” I tell him when Toby releases him.

He’s nervous. Shoving his hands into his pockets, he follows. I don’t talk to him until we head down the hall to the door with the matching ribbon. Using the key, I let us in.

The rooms are sparse. There’s a large bed in the middle and two end tables, each with lamps and tissues. There’s a single light overhead and two windows, both with remote-controlled shutters. They can’t be opened unless they get broken.

“You have ten minutes before the lights go out,” I tell him.

“Get undressed, get comfortable, and familiarize yourself with where the supplies are. The lights in the hall turn off when the lights in the rooms do. Your partner for the afternoon will be completely anonymous, but remember, a no of any kind is no. Understand?”

He nods, his eyes looking anywhere but at me.

“The door automatically locks when shut. You need a key to get in from the outside, so there won’t be any accidental interruptions if someone forgets to lock the door.”

“Sounds good.”

“Do you have any questions?”

His eyes flicker to mine briefly. “It wasn’t clear from what I was reading. Is there a time limit? Will we get kicked out at some point?”

“Four hours,” I tell him. “From the moment your partner chooses your key. If you reach that point, someone will knock on the door. Lights will stay out.”

He nods.

“Exit procedure is as follows: one of you leaves first. The other waits a few minutes and then follows. Toby will be at the door to record you leaving. Because the lights remain out, I suggest you keep your clothing in a neat pile somewhere easy to find in the dark.”

He nods again. “Cool.”

“Any further questions?”

“Nope.”

“Good. Have fun.”

I leave him there and head back down the hall.

This building is jointly owned by the two fraternities.

It was a mini mansion that the two frats had been restoring for years and years.

The first floor is in pretty good shape, most of the restoration having taken place there. The floors above need some more work.

This is the first event we’re using the building for. If these events go well and Hush takes off, there will be money to begin more expensive repairs and eventually be able to utilize the full building for various activities.

But for now, starting small.

There are a couple men waiting with Kylen when I return to the front. He hands me a key with a black ribbon and gestures for the next to follow me. I repeat this process three more times as we get the guys settled.

Once the last man is in his room, we wait a few minutes to give him time to undress and get settled before turning the lights out. The only light remaining on is in the front by the door where Toby is, and in the area that we’re using for waiting.

All ten keys with their ribbons are in a basket. Kole and I have flashlights that we’ll keep in red-light mode, but can be switched to white light, so make sure we’re at the right colored ribbon door.

“Ready for round two?” Toby asks.

“Ready,” Kylen says, nodding.

I recognize the first guy as soon as Toby opens the door. Conner meets my eyes. At first, they widen, and then he chuckles and gives his attention to Toby as he checks in.

Kylen has the basket in his hands. I’m standing close enough that I see Conner’s profile pop up, stating he’s here today and has all the appropriate waivers and contracts signed.

Conner stands beside me when he approaches, looking bemused. “So much for anonymous,” he says.

“Ah, but you didn’t read the fine print,” I tell him as I hand him the basket to choose his key. “Your hookup is anonymous. I get to know who you are and judge you hard.”

He snorts. “Fucker.” He hands the basket to Kole once he has a key in his hand. Yellow ribbon. I see Kylen choose the yellow, and another name appears, linking him with his anonymous hookup. We’ve decided to match them in our system. It’s necessary for safety reasons.

I click on my flashlight and nod in the direction of the hall.

“I’m a little surprised to see you here,” I tell him as we walk down the hall.

The doors are more or less in the progressive pride pattern, so I know where the yellow door is without using my white light.

I’ll double-check before I let him in, though.

Not that it matters. His key will only work in a single door.

Conner nods. “I’m fucking tired of being a good little hockey player and not getting into any trouble.” I can hear the exhaustion in his voice.

“You think you’re going to get into trouble here?”

“Nah. I mean… coming from an ultra-conservative, radically religious home, my soul is going to burn in hell by being here, man. So I guess in some ways, I’m in more trouble here than literally anywhere else.”

I wince. “Ouch.”

“That’s fine. My parents’ beliefs aren’t my own. I’ve always known that I didn’t share their same views and faith. It’s just been really hard breaking out of that life, though. You know?”

“No,” I tell him. “I can’t even imagine. Lang, my parents will adopt you if you need new ones. Prepare to be smothered in parental love.”

He looks at me as we stop in front of the door. The red light gives him a strange glow, but I see the half smile on his face. “Be careful with that offer. The temptation of experiencing unconditional parental love is far stronger than you might think.”

“Good thing I’m serious, then.” I flick the light to white, illuminating the yellow ribbon on the door before changing it back to red. “This is your stop, brother. Enjoy the sinful goods inside.”

He chuckles. “Thanks. I’m going to soak up all the sin while I can. I’m likely going to be forced into a commune over the summer.”

“Not if I steal you and ship you home first. Go before I pack you away right now.”

Conner smirks. I watch as he enters his key and unlocks the door. He looks back at me before he pushes the door open and disappears inside. It clicks quietly behind him.

I’ve known Conner for three years now. I didn’t know that about him. If I’d known about his home life and that he’s trying to escape from it, I’d have invited my fathers down a long time ago to introduce Conner to what parental love should look like.

The world is sick. Poisoning your child with hate against people who don’t believe the same shit as you do—which is ridiculously hypocritical, since they try to convince the world that their god is all about love and forgiveness—should be punishable by death.

Or at least torture. I said what I said.

I can believe that because the god I believe in truly does love everyone. There is no endless forgiveness for being a bad person just because you ask for it. Living a shitty life as a shitty person means you’ve already dug your grave. You want forgiveness? Work your ass off to earn it in life.

But I digress. I push my thoughts away as I head back to the front.

I don’t recognize another person as more than a vaguely familiar face. Once all rooms are occupied with their two guests, the long afternoon of studying commences.

At least someone is having orgasms. Hopefully.
