Ms. Thomas made it clear to MAV that her priority is making Baltimore safer now and in the future. She’s expressed full support for MAV in the city, and she supports the key pillars of MAV’s approach: regulation, liability, and confiscation.

Regulation of guns has had a dramatic effect, with shootings and murders down sharply for a third year in a row. This February was the first month to be totally free of gun violence—no shootings reported in the city for the entire month.

With liability laws now updated, gun makers and sellers are finally responsible for injuries and deaths caused by the machinery they produce and sell. There is a simple guideline: did a gun pass through your hands and go on to kill someone? You will be sued and held liable.

Sincerely,

Mikayla Adamson
