LUCAS

A lexis and her fiancé were not horrible.

They just lacked finesse, coordination, and, of course, the ability to let go and feel the music.

Jake had a bit of trouble putting his manhood aside and becoming one with the music.

Alexis… well, she was a little too comfortable letting the music take control.

Lucas had to keep reminding Alexis that children would most likely be in attendance at their wedding, so it was probably best if she kept her vag off Jake’s bulging hard-on.

Like, seriously. The two acted like a pair of horny college students alone in a cabin in the dead of summer.

At first, Lucas thought that perhaps they were playing with him, trying to make him uncomfortable with their borderline pornographic dance or porn-star mating ritual… whatever one might call it.

It was Lucas’s fault, really. He asked them if there were any dances they were familiar with, to which Alexis pulled out a chair, shoved Jake into the seat, and then proceeded to give the man a million-dollar lap dance.

Nope. Not wedding-appropriate.

Definitely not.

Alexis failed to mention that she used to work as a stripper and that Jake was her number one client. She stopped stripping once they started dating.

Talk about a meet-cute romance. Eat that, Hallmark!

“You guys are doing great. Let’s try that again, one more time.”

“I don’t see why I wouldn’t just have my hands on her hips in the first place. That way, I can grind my junk against her and remind her why she’s marrying me.”

Jake was a bit of a pig. He fit that rough-and-tough biker stereotype that was often seen in the movies or on cop reality shows.

In a way, it was kind of hot, but also, it was kind of annoying.

We get it; you’ve got a big dick. And if anyone was the lucky one in this scenario, it was Jake.

He was getting to marry one of the sweetest girls Lucas had ever met.

Yes, she looked rough on the outside, but she also possessed class and charm that she tried to keep hidden from the rest of the guys.

Lucas sensed that she believed it wasn’t acceptable to show such a soft side.

Yet here she was, learning to waltz with her fiancé, hoping to class up her wedding, which was sure to be overrun by loud men with big egos and mouths just as dirty as her man’s.

“Jake!” Alexis shouted as she slapped her fiancé’s shoulder. “Stop being so rude. Plus, we all know the real reason you are marrying me is because of these.” Alexis shook her chest, smiling as her man’s eyes went wide and his lips parted in a hungry grin.

If anyone has ever wondered what a starving lion looks like when it comes across an injured deer, it kind of resembled Jake’s current expression—except less man-boner and more salivation.

They really were perfect for each other.

“Okay, let’s try it one more time.”

Lucas pressed play on Alexis’s laptop—the source of their waltz music, thanks to the magic of YouTube.

He watched as his students began to move together. With enough practice, their movements would eventually become a dance. For now, at least it didn’t look like Jake was trying to impregnate his fiancée on their pretend dance floor.

“Wow, who knew that Jake had moves?” a deep voice asked, startling the trio mid-waltz.

Lucas looked up just as Caden stepped into the garage.

The man was created by the sex gods.

He was wearing a torn, sleeveless Rob Zombie T-shirt and tight blue jeans that were ripped across his thick thighs. To say that the material barely stretched across his legs was an understatement. Caden definitely did not skip leg days.

For a straight man, Caden sure knew how to dress. His clothing was stylish yet masculine, current but looked like it had been used and worn. Not to mention that every article of clothing hugged the man in all the right places.

“I’ve got moves that will put all you guys to shame,” Jake bragged, grinding his junk deep against his lady.

The move was clearly something that man had seen once—or twice—in a pornographic film. Probably starring some big-breasted woman and a dirty, slow-speaking mechanic. Lucas was getting the sense that that was the sort of thing Jake was into—big boobs and blue-collar men.

“Argh!” Alexis protested, breaking away from her fiancé and taking a step back. “I felt the head and everything!”

Jake chuckled. “That was the whole point, babe.”

“Have you been hard this entire time?” Alexis shouted, not seeming to care which of her neighbors might overhear.

Jake nodded like the horny pig that he was.

“God, I have no idea why I love you,” she said, clearly not upset about the whole dancing while hard incident. “So what are you doing here?” Alexis asked, turning her attention back to their newest guest.

Cade held up a tray of coffees.

“Thought you all might like a cup.”

“Fuck yes,” Jake cheered, jumping around Alexis and pulling a cup loose from the tray.

That was awfully kind of Caden.

Lucas didn’t realize that the three of them were the “bring each other a coffee out of the blue” kind of close.

Cade passed a cup to Alexis and then walked over to where Lucas was standing.

“I wasn’t sure how you take your coffee, so I grabbed some cream and sugar on the side.” He passed the tray, pulling a cup free for himself.

“Wow, that was really nice of you,” Lucas acknowledged.

He wasn’t sure how a straight man would react if he said that it was a sweet gesture. Knowing his luck, the man would punch him in the face, then resume drinking his coffee. So, to be safe, he decided to keep his response as generic as possible.

“Nah, it was nothing. I was out grabbing a cup and thought I would see how the lessons were going.”

“Don’t you live on the other side of town?” Jake asked, lifting his lid and taking a sip.

Caden’s lips parted, appearing annoyed that he had been called out on his actions. “I like to walk, asshole.”

Lucas tried not to smile. It was really sweet that Cade had gone out of his way to bring them all a coffee.

What are you doing? Don’t go falling in love with some sexy-ass straight boy when all he’s done is buy you a coffee. Did you not learn anything?

Lucas hated that voice of reason inside his head. The bastard had taken up residence ever since he’d met his ex. He liked to remind Lucas when he was being dumb and idiotic.

The jerk was right. He needed to calm down and not make this into more than what it was.

A coffee.

That’s it.

Nothing more.

“So, how are they doing?” Caden asked, lowering his voice as if trying to prevent the neighbors from hearing.

“Nailed it. Ready for Dancing with the Stars and shit,” Jake responded with that over-confident tone Lucas was starting to recognize as his default setting.

“Actually, they’re doing really well. Alexis has such grace that she can move her body into positions few are able to. And Jake? Well, he’s got the ego of a rock star.”

“And a dick to match,” Jake added.

Another slap against Jake’s chest. This one made Lucas chuckle.

“He’s actually a really good teacher,” Alexis noted, taking a step toward them and giving Lucas one of her warmest smiles. She really was a pretty woman.

Lucas could feel his cheeks flushing. He really missed dancing and singing, and teaching Alexis and her fiancé had reminded him just how much.

“Want to see what we learned?” Alexis asked.

“For sure,” Caden answered, taking a step aside and positioning himself in a viewer’s stance.

Alexis set both of their coffees on the floor and wrapped her arms around her man. Then she paused. She glanced over at Caden and Lucas, giving them both a questioning look.

“How about you two join us? This way, we can see how Lucas really moves on a dance floor.”

“What? You mean, like, me and Lucas dance… together ?”

Caden sounded shocked at the suggestion.

Wow, the boy really was straight as an arrow. He could almost hear Caden’s butt cheeks slam closed. Hate to tell you, precious, but in our situation, it would be me getting my butt assaulted.

Lucas rolled his eyes. He got it. Some guys weren’t comfortable dancing with other dudes, but still, the way Caden had reacted kind of hurt his feelings.

“Yeah. What? Are you too afraid to get close to a man and dance with him for a few minutes? Come on! I need to see how Lucas does it,” Alexis protested.

Lucas didn’t like people feeling pressured into doing something they weren’t comfortable with. He was bullied enough growing up; he didn’t need others to be bullied as well.

“Don’t worry about it, Alexis. I can dance the part alone,” Lucas offered.

“Well, no. It’s… fine.” Caden appeared conflicted, like he wasn’t sure what he should be doing. His body shifted from side to side, and his eyes kept darting from person to person. “I don’t mind. Really.”

Caden’s soft blue eyes flicked to Lucas, searching momentarily for confirmation or guidance as to how their little dance should go.

“Really, it’s not necessary. I can show them on my own,” Lucas offered one more time. In college, they rehearsed without partners all the time. While the dance may not look the prettiest, it served its purpose and got the job done.

Shaking his head, Caden grabbed both of their coffees and set them on the floor out of the way.

“It’s no big deal. Just two dudes dancing together in a garage,” Caden said, placing both of his hands on Lucas’s hips.

Clearly, Caden had never waltzed before either.

Lucas smiled.

“Fine.” He started the music again on the laptop and quickly explained the steps to Caden.

Placing Caden’s hands in the appropriate positions, Lucas took a deep breath and then began to move to the music.

It was hard to concentrate. Holding on to Caden’s hand with one and holding his muscular shoulder with the other. Not to mention staring into the sex god’s smoldering blue eyes.

Talk about intimate.
