Kieran wraps the blanket around us, pulling me close. “That’s ’cause you’re wrapped up in three fucking heaters.”
Mason’s hand glides up my thigh again, slow and comforting. “Sleep, baby. We got you.”
And I do. Wrapped in them, held and safe, I let go.
CHAPTER TWENTY-NINE
Mason
I wakeup to the soft, steady breaths of Beau and Kieran. They are both wrapped around Daisy, only her bright red hair poking from under Beau’s arm. I stretch a little, careful not to disturb them, then slowly slide out of bed.
My bones crackle as I stand, and a grin tugs at the corner of my mouth. Damn, I could get used to this.
The whole waking-up-as-a-mess-of-sated-joy thing. But right now, breakfast calls.
I grab my boxers off the floor, slip them on, and make my way downstairs. My feet drag a little, but it’s worth it.
I open the fridge, grab a bottle of water, and gulp down a couple of swigs. As I’m pulling the bottle away, a little ball of fluff pads out from the shadows.
“Hey, Slim,” I say, grinning at the tiny kitten that’s wandered into the kitchen.
I scoop him up, nuzzling him gently. Damn, he’s cute.
I grab a bowl and pour some milk into it, setting it down in front of him. He dives into it like he’s starving.
I laugh under my breath, then stretch my arms over my head. It’s like a free poppin’ and crackin’ sound system with every move.
I glance around, feeling already awake, so I wash my hands and start pulling out the eggs. I crack a couple into a bowl, whisk them up, and slide some bread into the toaster.
Just a regular morning. I kinda like the routine of it, even if it’s not exactly a morning I’d expected.
The door creaks open behind me. I turn my head, and there she is—her hair a mess, looking adorable as hell in one of Beau’s shirts.
“Morning,” I say, giving her a lazy grin.
She’s half asleep still, but she walks over to me and kisses me. Soft lips. I kiss her back, just a quick one, but damn, it still packs a punch.
“What are you up to?” she asks, rubbing her eyes.
“Making breakfast,” I answer, gesturing to the eggs. “For you. For us.”
“Really?” She sounds surprised, but also kind of… pleased? “What’s the catch?”
“No catch,” I say, laughing softly. “Just breakfast. I gotta leave soon anyway.”
Her brows raise, curiosity flickering in her eyes. “Where are you going?”
“Home to change. Gym, next. Then, brunch with my mom—she’s back in Miami,” I answer casually, cracking the eggs into a hot pan. Then, turning to her. “You should come with me.”
She tilts her head, thinking. “You sure you want me tagging along?”
I flip the eggs, then turn to her with a grin. “Yeah. I’d love for you to meet her.”
She looks like she’s thinking it over for a second, but then she leans forward, pressing her lips to my jaw. “Okay.”
I clean off and move over to her, sliding my hands under her thighs and lifting her up onto the counter. She squeaks a little, surprised, but that look in her eyes? It’s the one that says she’s game.
She lets out a soft, breathy laugh when I set her down, my hands still holding her.
