Page 86 of Power Play Daddies
Mason
I stareat the text from Kieran for the fifth damn time.
>> Crashing at Beau’s. She’s out cold. Meet us there.
Attached is a picture of Daisy, lips parted slightly as she sleeps.
She looks so fucking small. So beautiful.
My cock twitches, and I shift in my seat, exhaling slowly. Fucking Kieran. He knows exactly what he’s doing, sending me this shit in the middle of a damn meeting.
I flip my phone over, forcing myself to focus.
Coach Ace is droning on about plays, Rhett’s talking strategy, and I’ve got half the team spacing out because it’s past midnight, and none of us wants to be here.
Most of the endorsement companies left an hour ago, and Coach wants to take the time to go over plays.
I swear this man only thinks about hockey.
I jot down notes on my phone. Adjusting power plays. Defending the rush. Something about our penalty kill needing work. My mind is half here, half on that picture.
Coach Ace is still talking to Rhett, and before he can get a word in with me, too, I wave and head toward my car.
I knock once, and the door swings open. Beau hands me a beer without a word.
“Where’s Kieran?” I ask, stepping inside.
“Swimming. Daisy’s upstairs, still asleep.”
I nod and follow him into the living room, settling onto the couch.
Beau kicks his feet up on the coffee table. “So? How was the rest of the meeting?”
I take a sip of my beer. “Boring as fuck.”
He snorts. “No shit.”
“Coach Ace wants us to tighten up defense, adjust power plays, something about our PK needing work—honestly, I stopped listening after a while.”
“Figures.”
We drink in silence for a few seconds before Beau glances at me.
“So… wanna tell me why you two decided to bring her here?” I roll the bottle between my palms.
Beau hums, taking another sip. “She passed out. Her bed’s tiny as shit. It wasn’t gonna work.”
I glance at him. “She’s gonna need more space soon.”
“Yeah?” He nods. “With the baby coming, that apartment is going to be small as hell.”
I exhale. “You thinking what I’m thinking?”
“Getting her a bigger place?”
“Yeah.”
Beau leans back. “Could set her up somewhere nicer. Somewhere with room.”
