Page 36 of Necessary Time
“Colin,” he murmured against my lips, the question of more wrapped up in the inflection of my name.
“Yes,” I promised him, shifting the hold I had on his neck to angle his face more toward mine. “It’s okay.”
He kissed me again, but it was different.
So different.
Wesley kissed me like he’d never kissed another person before, and I knew that was probably closer to the truth than not, no matter what he’d said about it. His tongue dragged across the seam of my mouth and I opened for him. The second our tongues touched and tangled, Wesley groaned, grabbing me around the waist and holding me tight. I didn’t know if his intent was to balance himself or me, but it propelled us both backward until my shoulders hit the door.
My breath puffed into his throat and Wesley only changed the direction of his mouth, kissing me without even coming up for air. The earlier pulsing need between my legs had become an insistent and un-ignorable throb, so when Wesley angled himself against me, grinding down on my erection with his hip, there was no stopping the desperate whine that fell out of my mouth.
“Oh, my God,” he panted, pulling back just enough to breathe. My body leaned toward him, chasing after his mouth before realizing that I needed to catch my breath too.
Closing my eyes, I thumped my head against the bedroom door. My fingers were still around his collar, feeling out the tight muscles in his shoulders and down to his arms before sliding down and curling loosely around his wrists.
“Was that okay?” he asked.
I swallowed, nodding. “More than.”
“I think I want to do more than just kiss you.”
I pried open my eyes, one at a time. Wesley looked like a different man, drunk with lust and a little bit of power, some certainty. It suited him, and more than that, it turned me on.
“So do I.”
“Can I…touch you there?”
“Please.” My voice was almost a whine.
I let go of his right wrist and he reached between my legs, cupping my erection in the palm of his hand. His fingers cradled my balls and I could have come in a matter of minutes if he’d been bold enough to take my zipper down. His own cock dug insistently into my thigh and I grunted as he rutted against me.
“Wesley,” I begged, but not for more, for less. “We can’t.”
“I want you,” he said.
“I know. I…I want you too. But…” I let the rest of the thought trail off, and a burst of violently loud laughter made its way from the living room down through the door and into our ears. “Not right now.”
“I should have on Wednesday.”
I laughed softly, taking his face back into my hands and pressing our mouths together. He let out a surprised sound and then melted against me, hand still hot against my cock.
“Wednesday wasn’t the right time,” I told him.
“This is.”
“Almost,” I promised him. “Later.”
His expression morphed into a pout, but the kind where he knew I was right and he was being spoiled.
“Later,” I said again.
“Will you stay the night?”
That was a lot. That was something I wasn’t sure I could commit to. There were a thousand things Wesley and I needed to talk about, to agree on first. This wasn’t ever going to be a normal relationship. There were too many years and just enough people between us to make it far more complicated than it had any right being. But none of that was enough of a deterrent to make me change course.
“I’ll stay after everyone leaves,” I conceded, kissing his lips, the tip of his nose, his forehead. “We’ll see what happens after that.”
