“Well, the door didn’t magically lock itself,” he says as he unlocks it.

“How else was I going to be sure that I got you alone?” I ask him.

“Good point, peach. Now come on, let’s go celebrate that the Blaze is in the playoffs and you and I can share more gametime snacks.” He guides me slowly out the door.

“Yes, football, let’s do it.”

“Keep saying the words do it and we won’t make it to the bar.” He wiggles his eyebrows at me.

I shake my head. “You know you’ve taken me in the car before, so who says that we can’t do it on the way to bar.”

He groans. “You’re going to be the death of me.”

“Maybe, but you’ll have a damn fun time on your way out,” I tease him.

“I sure will.” He leans over and kisses the top of my head.

We head out of the Blaze stadium. Dex is carrying on his back, so that I can keep all the pressure off of my knee. I lean down and place kisses on his neck. Our eyes meet over his shoulder, and I can’t help but feel butterflies. Who knew being forced to share your apartment with a guy could have ended so happily? I’ll have to remember to thank August for bringing him into my life, I think to myself. Dex gently helps me get into the car and we head off to the Backwoods.

And I have a feeling this celebration is going to be a big one because we have so much to celebrate.
