He pulls me up so that I’m standing. “We’re going to have to clean up so that we don’t make a mess all over this room.”

I nod, my breathing slowly returning to normal. “It smells like sex in here.”

He laughs, “Yeah, hopefully, Lucas took the hint and went home.”

I giggle. “I hope so.”

“Be right back.” He leans down and kisses my shoulder. “I’ve gotta get rid of this.” I watch as he discards the condom and then comes back with a towel and begins to clean me off.

“Thank you,” I say turning and giving him a quick kiss.

“I meant what I said, I do love you.” He watches me carefully.

I let the words sink in. “I love you too, Dex. I’m sorry that I wouldn’t let you explain. You have to understand, I was hurt, and she was showing up all fabulous. I didn’t feel like I could compete with her.”

He cups my chin and says, “There is nothing to compete with. I am yours.”

“Good,” I give him another long kiss and break apart. “Because I’m yours.”

Dex pulls me into his arms and rests his chin on the top of my head. “I love this little height difference we have here. It’s like you fit in my pocket.”

I giggle. “Speaking of pockets, you might want to get us dressed.”

“Yeah, I guess we should.” He looks around the room for our clothes.

A knock at the door startles us both. “Dex, you coming to the Backwoods tonight?” I hear the door handle jiggle. “Why is this locked?”

“Hey, man, yeah, I’ll be there soon.” Dex calls out to him, he’s gathering up our clothes, and tossing me mine, so that we can dress quickly.

“Why is this locked?” August repeats.

“’I’m not alone,” Dex calls back to him.

“Please tell me you have Amelia in there?” August calls from the other side of the door.

“He better because we can’t find he, I hear Cassie say.

“Oh my gosh,” I say, hiding my head in Dex’s chest.

“Yeah, she’s in here with me. We’ll meet you there,” he tells them.

“You two take your time,” August says, laughing.

We hear some whooping and laughing as our friends move away from the locked door.

“Thank god there’s not a second entrance,” Dex says, grabbing my clothes and helping me get dressed.

Once we’re both back in our clothes, he turns to me and says, “Do you want to come with me back to August’s place for round two?”

“I would love that,” I reply. “Although, you could make your place, my place again.”

He nods. “I’m getting a sweet condo on the ground floor at August’s building. But yeah, I think that’s something we can talk about that in time. Or maybe you can have two places to sleep.” He pulls me in and gives me a kiss. “I’m so sorry for not telling you and for everything else. It’s you that I want. You are the perfect missing piece of me.”

I look up at him and grin. “Thank you. I think we both nailed it. There’s no one more perfect for me than you. Even if you do like to take advantage of me during therapy sessions,” I tease him.

He laughs loudly. “You know damn well that you came in here with full intentions of having sex with me.”

“Did I now?” I tease him as we head towards the door.
