Story: My Fated Human Luna
If the pack kills her so-called army, she won’t have anyone to rule over. It looks like that’s the only thing I can use to bargain with, so I have to be the Luna I was meant to be. Now is the time to be brave.
“Give me my sister and heal Skyler, and I’ll do whatever you want.”
“Don’t do it, Calla! She’s a liar like the rest of her kind!” Jaxon’s eyes are completely black as he tries to hold on to the last of his humanity. He hasn’t moved yet. Ezra keeps trying to push his wolf-like body through the forcefield, but it doesn’t work. He looks like he’s going to go crazy as he snarls and claws at the magic that won’t budge.
This time, they won’t come to my aid.
Marlowe smiles at what I said.
“You’re not really in a position to ask for things, are you?” She comes closer to us, and I quickly put my body in front of Skyler’s. Marlowe just laughs at me.
“It’s very noble of you, a weak, defenseless human, to try to protect a supernatural. I’m amused that you think you have something to offer me.”
“I’m the Luna of the Blackthorn pack. I have the pack at my disposal. They may not be able to kill you, but how will you fare without a coven?” Her eyes flare for a moment, and I know I’ve hit a weak spot. I go on. “With one order from me, they will try to kill. You won’t have anyone left to follow your orders. Listen to me.”
It looks like uncontrolled magic when blue magic spills from her hands. It doesn’t have a shape or form; it just glows from her hands and stays close to her.
Marlowe says, “You wouldn’t kill innocent people.” “You have good morals. You don’t hurt people who don’t deserve it.”
A voice says, “Good thing you’re not innocent.”
The look of shock on Marlowe and Elise’s faces is priceless. Felix stands in front of them, and his magic glows from his hands in response to the magic of his coven leader.
“Mother, did you really think that three witches were enough to keep me locked up?”
I didn’t see that coming. So, the leader of the coven is Felix and Elise’s mom? Marlowe doesn’t look anything like them. Felix and Elise have platinum blonde hair that looks like snow, but her hair is all black. Marlowe’s face is long and thin, while the twins’ cheeks are fuller. Their eyes are the only thing that looks the same. Their dark brown eyes all show a lot of emotions, like pain, sadness, or fear.
This whole thing is even worse because Marlowe is their mom. That means that Felix’s own mother told people to hurt him and make him stay loyal to her. She’s a beast.
“No, I didn’t. I thought they could keep you busy for a while longer.”
“Felix, go downstairs,” Elise tells him.
Felix laughs and walks over to where I’m kneeling in front of Skyler without a care in the world. Thank God he’s still alive, but there is way too much blood for this to be a normal wound. There must be something magical about it. He would be dead by now if he were a person because he has lost so much blood.
Felix starts to heal Skyler, and as soon as some of the pain goes away, Skyler takes deeper breaths.
“Stop healing him right now!” Marlowe yells, but Felix keeps saying the Latin spells to heal Skyler. He doesn’t listen to what his mother tells him to do. He only looks at me with regret, as if this whole thing was his fault.
I can’t blame him for what his family does because I don’t know how. Now he’s helping to save Skyler’s life. He’s doing what needs to be done.
“Felix, I’ll give you one more chance. Come here right now!”
Felix doesn’t listen to his mom and instead puts all of his energy into saving Skyler. He seems to have only closed the wound a little bit, and he is losing a lot of energy right now. If this is how much it takes out of Felix, Skyler must have been very close to death.
“Felix, please, you don’t get it—”
Felix yells at Elise, “I’ve heard enough from you!” “You betrayed me! You put a child in danger for what? So that our bitch of a mother could keep using magic? F**k that. I’m sorry I have a conscience. You’re dead to me.”
The words seem to hurt Elise, and she can’t move. She doesn’t try to stop Felix any more. Instead, she decides to pull away from others.
“That conscience is a shame. I’m sorry, my son, but I have to do what is best for this coven.”
Before Marlowe can even finish speaking, Elise is yelling. I can’t hear what Marlowe says, but the blue magic flare that is going straight for Felix is dangerous enough.
He doesn’t look like he’s in pain. He doesn’t scream, bleed, or do anything else. As he sways to the side, the magic in his hands slowly stops. His eyes are still open, shiny, and staring at the ceiling.
He died.
The sounds all mix together. Maybe my brain is too full, or maybe I’m just too sad to tell the difference between Elise’s screams and the growls coming from behind the forcefield. Ezra and Jaxon keep hitting the shield, using their strength to get past the magic and reach their friends. They can’t get anywhere because Marlowe is too strong.
She really showed her strength when she killed Felix while holding the shield in front of me and his twin sister. The more I think about it, the angrier I get. This woman has killed my friend, taken my sister, and threatened my life.
I look down into his dead brown eyes, and there is no sign of mischief or friendship left. Tears make it hard for me to see, so I put a shaky hand on his cheek. I know he’s gone, but I can’t help but shake his shoulders and call him. I don’t try to hold back the tears.
There is bright blue magic swirling between Elise and Marlowe as they yell at each other. Right now, I’m not thinking about them; I’m thinking about the body of my friend that is in front of me. I put two fingers on his eyelids and lower them so he looks like he’s asleep. It’s much easier to deal with that way. Skyler only holds my hand like Jaxon would have if he could have gotten to me.
I don’t know how I’m going to get close to her, but I know that plan A, which was to save her quickly, is ruined. I can cry later, but right now I need to get my act together and get to Marlowe for the backup plan the pack and I made.
Elise is yelling a lot of bad words at Marlowe right now as she attacks her mother with everything she has.
“You f*****g bitch! You killed my brother, your f*****g son!” Elise keeps muttering spells, but Marlowe seems to easily block them with her own magic. She looks like she can’t be stopped right now.
Marlowe says, “It had to be done! He was never going to be loyal to this coven. I did you a favor.”
This just makes Elise even angrier. She screams and pushes her hands out, and a wave of strong magic flows out. It does manage to push Marlowe back a few steps. I can see that she’s starting to sweat on her forehead. She’s getting weaker.
Elise looks like she’s lost her mind from sadness. Strong magical currents are making her blonde hair whip back and forth, and her face is streaked with tears and mascara. Her anger is almost like a physical thing.
Skyler’s hand on my wrist brings me back to the present. He still needs medical help because his face is pale and his stomach is bleeding. Felix died trying to save him, and I’m not going to let his death be in vain. Skyler still seems to be the one trying to save me.
“We need to get you out of here before they start looking at you,” he says. He groans in pain because he moved a little while trying to sit up.
“We need to get out of here, Skyler. I’m not leaving you behind.”
“I can’t walk because I’m too heavy, and Ezra and Jaxon are still stuck. There’s no way I can even walk.”
“Skyler? Pay close attention to what I’m saying,” I say. “You’re not going anywhere without me. So we can either leave now or stay here together.”
I don’t pay attention to what he says because I bend down and use all of my strength, which isn’t much, to lift Skyler off the ground. He moans and gasps in pain, and I feel bad for him because he’s in so much pain, but I can’t save Jaxon and Ezra while he’s here. For me to follow through with the plan, Skyler needs to be far away.
Skyler leans on me a lot, and we fall to the side a little bit before I can get us back up. We make it down the hall, but I can’t handle his weight anymore and we fall to the ground. I help him fall a little, but I know he won’t be able to get back up. The floor at our feet is stained with crimson.
I yell, “Hey!” in his face when I see that he’s losing consciousness. He blinks his eyes sleepily until he sees me. “I’m going to go save our friends, but you can’t die on me. You can’t die on Ezra, okay? Stay awake and alive for him. I love you.”
I hug him and let him go right away.
“Wait! Calla, you can’t go back there; it’s suicide!” Skyler says, but I know that normally there would be a lot more power behind the words.
I take the syringe that Jaxon gave me out of my pocket. Skyler just shakes his head.
“That was only for emergencies! You can run now if you can’t get away!”
I smile at him, but my eyes don’t show it, and then I back away from him. He yells after me, but I quietly make my way to the other side of the hallway where the witches are fighting. I might not be as strong as a werewolf or as evil as a witch, but I will always be there for you. I will not leave Jaxon and Ezra trapped by wards so Marlowe can t*****e them.
As soon as I peek around the corner, a blue light show blinds me. I can see Jaxon and Ezra pounding on the wards through the fog. When Jaxon sees me, his eyes get bigger. His eyes scream “Run!” but I slowly make my way down the hall until I see Marlowe’s back to me. I wait for them to stop using their magic so I can act.
The syringe Jaxon gave me was meant to be a last resort. He didn’t want me to be able to fight Marlowe, but he wasn’t sure if the shot would be enough to calm her down. If the shot wasn’t strong enough, she could easily kill me. That’s why I said it was my last resort.
Charlotte Williams’s friend Charlotte Williams got this drug from friends in another witch coven, as far as I know. It weakens a witch’s magical connection for a short time, cutting off all magic for that time. This drug seems to be used by covens on powerful warlocks or witches who are just starting to get their powers and can’t control their magic, or on people who are using magic in a way that is out of control.
“Give me my sister and heal Skyler, and I’ll do whatever you want.”
