Page 40 of Monster Daddies
We watch her eat. Every bite. The way she seems to be enjoying the monstrosity we made for her warms my cold, dead heart.
"Best toast I've ever had," she announces, licking a bit of cheese from her fingertip.
"You know," I say, scowling at her. "Little girls that fib, especially when talking to their Daddies, should get a hiding."
She giggles.
"Who says I'm fibbing? Did you taste it?" She beams at us before hopping off the counter and putting the plate in the dishwasher.
When she's done she turns around, resting her hip against the counter. "But maybe, we will leave the cooking for the guests up to me?"
"Oh you little minx," Jodrick mock-growls before reaching across to snatch her up, but before he can she flounces away, rushing back out the door.
"You can only spank my ass if you can catch me!" she shouts at us as she disappears down the passageway.
"And when I do, I'll spank it even harder for running in the fucking house!" I threaten right back as we both chase her down.
Chapter Seventeen
Avalon
I wake up warm.
Not just from the sunlight spilling through the curtains, or the heavy blanket tangled around my legs, but fromthem. There's a deep, steady warmth thrumming low in my chest, curling around my heart like invisible arms.
My bond with my Daddies.
It's new. Raw. And so breathtaking it almost hurts.
I can feel them inside me. It's not just physical, even though I can still feel the tenderness between my legs from their tender lovemaking yesterday, but also more. Deeper. Stronger.
It's a pulsing thread, stitched through my soul like the golden thread keeping the seams of my favorite unicorn together.
I love it.
I love them, even though I haven't actually said the words to them yet.
But knowing my feelings for them, and feeling the bond... it only makes me miss them more.
Because now I know exactly what it is I'm missing.
Before, even though I knew I cared for them, and that there was a potential for more... for thisthingbetween us, now I'vefeltit. I'veexperiencedit. Now I know the texture of their touch, the sound of their voices in my ear as they fill me, and the taste of their kisses.
Every hour spent without them is like walking around with a piece of my soul missing.
I sigh and roll out of bed, my body still deliciously sore in places, my heart achy in a whole new way.
Today's supposed to be exciting as I'm working on the final plans for the soft opening, and itisexciting. I want to welcome people into this place that's wrapped itself around me like a second skin.
But first...
First, I need a moment.
Just a moment with my house. With themoreof the house. The walls that listen, and the hearths that warm, and the windows that allow in light and life.
I pad barefoot up the wide staircase, the worn wood cool under my feet, my unicorn clutched tight against my chest.
The nursery door creaks a little as I nudge it open, and the familiar feeling of rightness surrounds me when I enter my special space.
