Byron’s words made me feel alive. It felt like a live wire buzzing through me, and the electricity wouldn’t stop until I had him. Both of them.
Tonight, I was a different woman. Kinky and naughty—a far cry fromvanilla.
He stepped closer, running his arm up my back. My body shuddered from his electric touch, and my breath caught in my throat.
“You can say no,” he whispered hotly. His voice was gruff. Raspy. Seductive. And it was working.
“I’m not saying no.” There was no chance in hell. This type of man came around once in a lifetime. I didn’t care if he gave me one night or one month; I’d seize this chance and enjoy every damn second of it. “Do you want me?”
Despite my growing confidence, I felt my old insecurities sprout up. All night I felt like I’d been playing a part, and I had no idea where the bravery came from. Or this flirty side of me. Maybe it was just waiting for this man to kick in. But still, I needed to hear him say the words.
Byron brushed a strand of hair off my shoulder. The touch sent my pulse into overdrive. At this rate, my heart would freaking stop when he finally had me naked.
“You have no idea how much,” he rasped. His cologne was intoxicating. His stubble brushed over my cheek like sandpaper, and my mind immediately created images of him between my legs, eating me out while his stubble ground against my soft skin. “But fair warning, I’m not keen on sharing you with another man.”
I tilted my head. “You haven’t done this before?”
“I have.”
Surprise coasted over me. “Then why—”
He lowered his head until his mouth hovered next to my ear. My heart skipped a frantic beat, and I clutched his shoulders as if needing him to ground me. “Because with you, I feel far too possessive to watch another man touch you. Even if it’s River, who I trust with my life.” A gasp tore from my lips at his admission. Somehow I didn’t think this man was usually open and upfront like this. “But for you, I’ll give it a go. Just don’t be surprised if I give him a concussion afterward. I have to make sure he doesn’t remember you, how you feel, the sounds you make.”
His voice was deep and gruff. A long beat passed before he turned his head and sought out my gaze, his eyes burning. My skin was too hot for comfort and my breaths came out shallow.
“Okay.”
“Are you ready?”
I swallowed a gulp as excitement shot through me.
“I’m ready,” I breathed while my heart drummed against my ribs. I stared at his full lips, wondering—no, wishing for them on my skin. “So fucking ready.”
“Then let’s go.” We stopped dancing and those lips spread into a dark smile. Full of secrets. Full of promises.
“Let me tell my sister not to wait for me.” Gosh, was this really happening? My cheeks burned at the insinuation that I’d be spending the night with him. I licked my lips nervously, and his eyes traced the movement. “Unless it won’t last all night.”
Wonderful, now I sounded like an inexperienced virgin.
“It will last as long as you want it to.” His voice glided over my skin. “I hope a lot longer than a night.”
Holy. Shit. Yes. Please.
“I have an afternoon shift tomorrow,” I tossed back saucily, insinuating I was all for extended sexcapades.
“Your sister is sitting with my brother,” he said, his eyes flickering over my shoulder. “Let’s go tell them not to wait up. Shall we?”
He extended his hand and I took it, like this was the most natural thing in the world. Like I’d done this a million times before. I hadn’t. Pierre was my first boyfriend. While Billie liked to experiment, I liked stability. But tonight, I’d be a woman of the world.
Okay, maybe that was going too far.
We reached the table, Winston and Billie in some lively discussion.
“Hey, I’m going,” I told my sister in French, my cheeks burning.
“I’m out too,” Byron announced. “River too.”
Heat rushed through my body, and I squeezed my thighs together. Was he waiting for us? Was he ready for us? Oh. My. Gosh. I was so ready for them—both of them. It felt so forbidden. Risqué.
