I smena woke the next morning feeling physically better than she had in a long time. Until the events of the night before—or is it early morning?—crashed through her.
"OH MAH GAWD!!" The shout tore from her before her hand automatically slapped at her mouth. Her eyes widened.
She'd made out with Wolfariane. Wait, that is NOT a make-out. Whatever it is, it is not a make-out.
In the bathroom, as she brushed her teeth, her head wouldn't stop thinking about it.
A make-out is never that good. She can call it foreplay—which it is—but foreplay is never that good either. Hell, sex as a whole is NEVER that good.
Unbiddenly, she remembered what he told her the day before about mates under the full moon .
"It's sex, but more." He'd said.
What did he do to me?
Naked, Ismena faced the bathroom wall mirror, her cheeks as red as tomato sauce. And even got redder when she noticed his dried semen on her belly and thigh. A reminder of the wild night she had on the balcony, in his arms.
How did that happen?
That part is never too clear no matter how she thinks about it.
He'd been irritated by her. He'd been scowling at her. He'd been angry with her. He'd told her to walk by him slowly to her bedroom. She can still remember the feeling that coursed through her with each step she'd took. She'd felt like she had to walk too slow or she will wake a sleeping tiger.
Did she really wake a sleeping tiger?
Because that is exactly what it felt like when he let out that animalistic growl that made her belly tighten and her heart flutter, before jumping on her like a tiger will jump a prey.
But then, he'd done...things...to her. Jesus.
She can feel herself getting wet—and not by bathing!—just thinking about it. "Heavens, that man is dangerous." She muttered out loud.
There was no bathtub in the bathroom, so she got under the shower and allowed the water to cascade down her back. And her neck...
She faced the mirror again, swiveled her head to the side, and looked at THAT part of her neck. It was faintly red .
She touched it, but couldn't feel a thing out of the normal. So, how does it turn erogenous under his own touch...? How does it feel so pleasurably sensitive at the touch of his mouth...?
The memory of it made her shiver. Jesus. What the hell happened?
Nothing has ever felt that way before. Just because her sex life is almost non-existent doesn't mean she'd never had good sex before...she has, but it didn't come close. No man had ever made her feel a quarter of what she felt the night before.
"That man is dangerous." She muttered again. And not the obvious danger, he is a new kind of dangerous.
He is sexually dangerous to her and her body. And her health.
Wait, her health?
Who is she kidding, she hadn’t felt better than this in a long long long time.
After bathing, Ismena was torn.
Her body wants more of what she got the night before so badly, while her mind is freaked out by all of them.
She is torn between getting closer to him and sticking to him like glue, or avoiding him like hell until she has given this much more thought with the upper part of her brain, and not the lower part of her that wets for him at every thought. At every contact with him.
Can she really tangle with a strong, powerful man like Wolfariane?
Wolfariane was in the Meeting Hall with the Alphas and the Head Sentinels. It consists of a council of twelve .
They are in the middle of a very important discussion. A Wild One that is killing the changelings brutally for the past two years.
All Wild Ones are dangerous, but this particular one is the most dangerous of them all because he seems to be a psychopath too.
Brutally killing off their people in the same way; heads torn out, stomachs wide open with the intestines snatched out and scattered all over the body, all the toes of his victim bitten and chewed out. This particular one is a psychopath.
Wild Ones are dangerous because they have lost their moral reasoning, and succumbed to the animal's basic instinct. A Wild One kills and feasts on the 'meal' until its barely bones remaining, but this particular one just kills without feeding on it.
Just for the kills. Just for the thrill of the kill.
Hence, the name; The Wild Psychopath.
They gave him that name after his fourth kill, a year ago.
They've been trying to find him but he has proved exceptionally evasive to an extent that is surprising.
He leaves no recognizable markings, no track marks, no evidence, and no scent.
"Poor Ganee's parents, they are still filled with grievance." Head Sentinel Rodarh remarked from his chair across the table and the others nodded their head. Ganee is his last victim and the boy is barely thirteen years old.
"Well, we managed to catch a scent. It is faint, very faint, but we are doing our best to know if we can use it to catch that bastard." Alpha Asisy, the Alpha of the tiger Changelings stated in anger .
"I met Ganee's mother, yesterday, in the market. Poor woman looks like death." Alpha Alphose tone was filled with pity. He is the council representative of the Cougar clan.
"Why wouldn't she? She lost her only son four weeks ago to the hands of that Wild Psycho. That will break down any changeling mother even if she has twelve children. And Ganee's mother only had Ganee." Head Sentinel Rodarh replied angrily. He is the council representative of the Elephant Clan.
The elephant Alpha, Alpha Onaries, is on a mission to the non-changeling world so he couldn't attend.
"Well, we do agree that he will be caught, we just need to extend our searches to more clans and dwellings." Head Sentinel Adanel, finally added. He is the council representative for the werewolf Clan.
Automatically, the twelve members of the council looked at him with interest. The man does not talk much. The council of twelve will disagree but the Alpha King knows they fear Adanel well...with good reasons.
The round table holds six elegant, elaborated chairs occupied by five council members and the special throne chair occupied by the Alpha King, with six extra elaborated chairs behind the first six chairs for other council members. All of them were staring at Adanel.
"I think Head Sentinel Adanel is right. It is time to extend the search to wilder ranges." That is from Alpha Rodarh.
The others nodded their agreement. Then, they all looked to their Alpha King for his guidance and last decision.
Finally, Wolfariane straightened in his chair slowly but lethally and nodded his head too.
"Yes. He is right. I have been thinking about it for a while.
Just because most of his killings are happening in the heart of Naturiah does not mean we have to base our searches only on the mountain lion clan and werewolf clan. "
The others nodded their heads too.
"I will have the Sentinels in charge of the hunt for the Wild Psycho extend their search to more clans and even across the borders. This cannot continue." He said firmly, with barely contained anger.
Just the thought of the killer that has been hunting and killing his people for the past two years annoys Wolfariane greatly. Of course, he is better at hiding it than the others. Well, except Adanel.
"It cannot continue." A few others stated too, while the rest nodded their head.
"What about our hunt for your stolen ring, Alpha King? Has there been progress?" Alpha Asisy asked again.
The Alpha King faced the left side of the table, "I will let Alpha Degar answer that." He'd sent the leopard Alpha to find out about the progress the day before.
Alpha Degar inclined his head toward the Alpha King before he faced the council, "Yes, there has been progress.
According to the Sentinels we sent to the non-changeling world, they brought in news that the old facility remains burnt down, and from the look of things, it doesn't look like it has been set foot in, for the past eighteen years. "
He paused and added, "But they are still camouflaged and waiting to know if they can pick up more details."
"That means, there's a new location those monsters are using. Were they able to detect it?" Alpha Alphose asked.
"No, but they are still searching the remains of the facility for more clues. We will still hear more from them." Alpha Degar answered .
"Fair enough. Do keep us all updated." Alpha Alphose said and the rest nodded.
"We will discuss more on it in the next council meeting." The Alpha King was doing his best to contain the wolf and cougar in him that is snarling in rage at the mention of the lab facility that ruined their lives.
The calmness and restfulness he has been feeling all morning have disappeared like the wind because of the discussion at hand.
"Fuck, those monsters." Head Sentinel Rodarh growled angrily too.
"I heard the culprit that lost the ring and made us all a target is here in our land.
That ring is a grand mark of the changelings, but now it has fallen into the hands of those monsters again, revealing us to them.
Again. Who is that person that caused this? "
"Thank goodness someone brought it up, I have been meaning to ask that." That is Head Sentinel Rodarh, and his eyes have gone light-brown showing that the elephant is close to the surface, and it is furious.
"Who is that changeling? He needs to be brought to the council, and he needs to be punished for putting all our lives in danger." He growled.
The rest of the council nodded and muttered their agreement.
"Uhm, she's not a changeling but—" Alphose began, needing to quench this fire before it begins.
"What!? A human !?" Ratinus, The Rat Alpha roared from his chair. He leaned forward and banged his fist angrily on the table, "A human put our lives in danger!? He should be killed!"
"Uhm, if you can just listen—" Alphose began again, but they cut him off.
"I say we cut off his head and present it on a spike at the market of the heart of Naturiah." Head Sentinel Rodarh snarled furiously .
Alpha Asisy's eyes were narrowed in sheer anger. "I say we lure him to the council, shift forms and let our other halves deal with this human." He spat the word 'human' disgustedly, "I cannot wait to do this."
"I cannot wait to tear him limb by limb." Head Sentinel Rodarh snarled, licking his lips like he can taste that person's flesh already. "Bet, I won't have to eat for three days after that, because I will feast very well."
The others nodded their agreement, followed by more words of anger and rage from the council members.
Noise erupted in the council. Angry sprouts and hateful snides about the human culprit. Most of them are already having a hard time controlling their other halves. A few of them have made a half shift, raging in anger.
All were demanding for the human that put them all in danger.
Alphose and Degar winced in the midst of the chaos. They'd predicted something like this will happen eventually, but it doesn't make it any better that it will happen. The council has no idea their 'culprit' is in Naturiah, under their protection.
Alphose's eyes found Head Sentinel Adanel from across the table, and a chill went down his spine.
Like the Alpha King, he is doing nothing or saying nothing. The male is too quiet about this. That in itself is a big problem.
Adanel is what they call a dangerous lone wolf. No one knows what he is thinking, feeling, or planning to do at any time...unless he speaks of it. Which he most likely wouldn't. He is almost like the Alpha King in that aspect .
Like most of the council, he hates humans. But, on a scale of one to ten, if others hate humans on a scale of eight or nine, Adanel hates them is off the charts. Maybe, fifty-four.
And, like the rest of the council, he is waiting for the Alpha King to give them information about this human that put them all in danger.
But unlike the rest of them who were bantering and raging, he is looking at the Alpha King quietly. Waitingly. Menacingly.
Alphose sighed. He has no idea how the Alpha King will go about this because he has no liking for humans or the human in question.
Also considering the fact that he does not want the human because of what the human means to him. How will he handle this?
Like Adanel, he turned and looked at the Alpha King.
