Page 52 of Let It Snow (Eden’s Omegaverse #7)

I open my eyes. It’s morning, but the room is still dim, and I realize I’m lying in Snow’s bedroom.

His muscular, tattooed arm is draped across my waist. A sudden, almost wild rush of excitement runs through me. Finally, I did it… I broke through.

I lift my hand to my neck and find the bite mark, already healed, just the way it usually is.

Carefully, I slip out from under his arm without waking him and slide off the bed. On tiptoe, I gather my clothes and head for the door.

I get dressed by the doorway and step outside.

The sun is just beginning to rise above the horizon, a light morning chill brushing over me and clearing my head. I take off in a mad sprint, racing down toward the beach by the lake.

Once I’m there, I strip again and dive straight into the water. The cool rush is a blessing.

I swim like a man possessed, carving circles, reveling in the sheer motion of my body, in the freedom of pushing forward, breaking through the water’s surface, diving into its blue depths.

My Fate, there are so many small joys in this world. So much beauty, and yet I let myself get tangled up in negativity, focusing on things that never really mattered.

I burst out of the water and catch sight of a figure standing on the sand. It’s Snow, watching me with that familiar crooked smile of his.

"Good morning, Summer. Beautiful day."

"It really is."

I walk out onto the shore, completely naked. Snow’s eyes flick down to the mark on my neck for just a moment before lifting back to mine.

I smile.
