Page 47 of Let It Snow (Eden’s Omegaverse #7)
"I know! It’s… just… eh! So much I hoped for was robbed from me, Snow.
So much! A chance to be normal, living free of these ridiculous powers, being just a regular omega, a chance to have my own kids, a chance to find my True Mate, like all my brothers and most of yours!
And I’m not even human! I’m a monster, a freak.
It’s… fuck. It’s just a lot! I simply don’t belong anywhere… "
"I’m sorry," I whisper. "I’d like to think you belong with me—"
But he doesn’t listen; he keeps going.
"It scares me… because twins can go separate ways, Snow. Every time they decide. Every. Fucking. Time."
"But I don’t want to. I want to be with you, Summer."
A weak sob escapes him.
"But I CAN decide to go away, even right now? Yes?"
I take a small step toward him, really wanting to hold his small body, which is shivering from all the emotions, rainwater streaming down his fair face, his pale lips pressed into a thin line.
He seems startled by my movement, so I hesitate, but I decide to do it anyway.
My arms pull him closer, my hands landing on his back. He shivers even more, his body so warm and wet in my arms, pressed against my chest. My dick reacts way too eagerly, and the need to push him onto the sand spikes like crazy, but I remember he’s in heat recovery. It stops me in my tracks.
Still… Summer seems to have some ideas. He wriggles in my arms, his fingers clutching at my biceps, his face pushing between my pecs, his breath speeding up.
Suddenly he makes a sound, a low, sweet AO call for penetration. Wow, it stuns me. Despite the recovery discomfort, Summer demands it, repeats it even, with a more impatient, hungry tone, pulling me back to the sand.
"Can you… make us invisible?" he blurts out.
"I can…"
"Then do it!"
The second after, we stumble onto the ground. I can feel Summer quickly push his pants down and pull his legs high up to his chest, repeating the sound one more time, more insistently, his eyes closed, his lips parted, his breath quick, so… I don’t wait.
With one push, I’m inside him. I can sense he is still swollen there after the heat, but he doesn’t seem to be in pain, maybe only some discomfort, which he welcomes with some strange relief.
"Fuck-me-fuck-me-fuck-me," he repeats like a mantra as I fuck him, fast and intense. His aura expands and starts to emanate gold and red hues as our breaths crescendo. His passage is so hot and tight it can’t take too long. When I come, I push all my orgasmic energy through Summer’s body, giving him another climax on top of his own, and he arches, moaning, trembling.
His aura pulsates, expanding like a supernova, shimmering with small sparkles of red, orange, and pink energy.
Wow, I guess we both needed it, almost like a stress relief.
But as our breaths slow down a bit, all his excitement stops.
The energy is contracting; the colors become paler.
"Am I crazy? I just want it all, Snow, I want to have it all, and it hurts…" he whispers.
"Well, even if we don’t have it ‘all’, we still have quite a chemistry," I murmur, "and I want you as fiercely as if we were True Mates, Summer."
Summer still has his eyes closed as he exhales and whispers, "Yeah, at least we have that… constant boners." It comes out a bit dryly.
It’s obvious he still isn’t on board with rejoicing over our Twin Soul status. But for now, there’s not much I can do about it.
And then, a sound.
Somebody is coming toward us. I hear the crunch of sand beneath his feet.
I lift my head and see the figure of an omega approaching from the direction of Luca Ferro’s house.
Moon.
He’s looking around as if searching for us, and the moment I take the invisibility off, he gasps and shakes his head.
"Wow, you really made me almost shit my pants."
"You are so subtle…" Summer murmurs, getting dressed quickly, and rather nervously.
Moon’s eyes slide over me in slight shock.
"Oh my. You look… interesting," he mutters under his breath. "Nice to meet you in your naked… person."
I shake his outstretched hand, and he grins.
Summer, however, frowns a bit as Moon’s eyes flicker briefly toward my dick.
"A good…um, handshake. Very solid."
Summer growls low, Moon giggles.
"So… did Snow convince you to go back?" Summer’s brother tilts his head as I pull my clothes on. "Or are you still being silly with the whole Iceland trip thing?"
Summer’s face looks kinda grumpy now. "Thanks for such a compassionate summary of my struggles…"
"Oh c’mon, you belong with him, Summer. There’s no need for you to run away."
Then I say, even if it kinda stabs my heart, "But if you still want to visit your parents, you should, Summer. It may be something to think about if you need to put things in perspective."
Summer sends me a strange glance.
There is a moment of silence.
Moon frowns, and Summer stares at the sand.
"A True Mate would never say it. He would never send me away," he whispers bitterly.
"I’m not sending you away, Summer. I don’t want you to stay with me against your own heart. I only want you to stay with me if you really want to."
"A True Mate would never say this!" he repeats, his voice breaking. "I would have to stay no matter what!"
Moon rolls his eyes. "And you still have to, it’s only a matter of time before you understand it, silly!"
Summer bites his lip, sudden determination on his face.
"I want to visit my parents! We haven't had time to meet since my kidnapping. They deserve… our reunion."
Moon makes a disappointed snort, but I nod.
"I will drive you to the airport. You still have two hours to make it there."
"You’re an idiot, Summer. An absolute moron," Moon throws at his brother, then he swings the backpack he was holding on one arm onto the sand and growls, "But fine. Call me when you grow your brain cells back," he says, turning away, striding off with a frustrated look. "The process is gonna hurt!"
Summer still stands with his head low.
"You really won’t try to stop me from leaving?" he whispers.
"I believe in free will and free choice. And I want to be chosen by you. Really chosen. Not forced on you."
There’s a long pause.
Then I reach out my hand. "Come on, Summer. Let’s go."
He takes it, his fingers trembling. We get off the beach in silence and go to my car, leaving Moon behind.
The whole road to the airport, Summer is dead silent, staring at his hands, deep in his thoughts, his aura gray and sunken.
As we get out at the airport parking lot, he’s still totally closed off.
It’s already time to get to the check-in counter, so I just walk him toward the line of people waiting to go to the boarding area.
The line moves slowly, and the moment draws inevitably closer.
Finally it’s Summer’s turn.
The agent checks his ticket. Summer’s hands are shaking.
I notice there’s a small stand by his counter with slips of paper and a pen attached by a chain.
I quickly step up to it and on one slip write the following words:
"For you, it must look like I don’t fight for you when I should.
That I’m a disappointment. Our status is a disappointment to you.
And you didn’t agree to accept my bitemark.
Because who am I? A guy who lives in a basement and has kids on the way with another omega.
What can I possibly offer you? But know this: if you decide to come back, I’ll do everything in my power to make you happy.
You just have to trust me to pull off the miracle for you, the one you’ve been dreaming about. "
I roll up the paper and seal it, using a "FRAGILE – Handle with Care" sticker I peel from the stand, apparently left over from someone’s baggage.
Summer is already at the check-in counter finishing the formalities. He turns toward me, and that’s when I hand him the rolled-up ‘letter’.
"Read it only once you reach your parents’ home. Not before."
He raises his eyes to me, and they are full of tears. They flow down his cheeks one by one. He opens his mouth, but then, not wanting to make a scene or stir up more emotions, I turn and walk away, leaving him standing there.
It hurts so much… I could use my own gift for healing energy wounds right now, but can a healer heal himself?
I leave the terminal, get into the car, and drive back home.
It’s hard to describe what I feel.
The world around me has turned gray, colors have faded, sounds have flattened as if distorted, scents have dulled, soured.
And even the rain starts again.
I get out of my Jaguar and spot a lone figure leaning in the shadow of the garage, vaping, one arm braced against the wall. The tip of the e-cig glows a faint bluish light in the dark, pulsing with each inhale.
It’s Bay.
He watches me, his eyes narrowed.
"Well, looks like for now there’s no place for snow in the heart of summer," he says ironically.
I move toward him in a sudden motion. I’m not a violent man by nature, but something breaks out of me now.
I pin him to the wall and snarl,
"Why do you do this? Why do you always meddle in other people’s lives!"
He bares his teeth.
"Someone has to. Otherwise, they’ll never reach their full potential!"
I clench my teeth.
"Why can’t I see you? Why are you my blind spot? You block the paths, I can’t… I can’t break through this… black hole that you are!"
Bay burst out laughing, and then… I hit him.
I guess he had it coming.
Blood from his split lip stains my fist. Bay doesn’t seem to react, doesn’t protect himself, doesn’t lose his smirk.
"Maybe you’re not as unique as you think, Snowball?"
The smell of whatever he’s vaping coils into my nose, the color of the smoke is a vivid, poisonous green. The sound it makes is a high-pitched screech, like someone scraping a thin knife across glass.
"Because you can’t have Alex, you’re filled with burning jealousy… and rage," I say.
Bay slowly wipes his mouth, then takes another draw from his e-cig and only then pushes my hands off him.
"You don’t know anything about me. You know everything about everyone else, but about me… nothing. Zero."
He taps his temple with his fingers, the end of his vape glints in the dim light, and the pale blue shade of it hums a drunken song for me.
Or maybe it’s Bay humming it?
In fact, he is.
His beautiful bass voice echoes in the quiet night, gleaming sapphire in the air.
Oh the weather outside is frightful,
but the fire is so delightful.
And since we’ve no place to go,
Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!
He grabs my waist with his arm, then my free hand, and pretends to sway us into a dance. For some silly reason, I let him.
It doesn’t show signs of stopping,
And I’ve brought some corn for popping.
The lights are turned way down low,
Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!
His eyes gleam like basalt, and on his lips I see the thin cut my fist has made.
When we finally kiss goodnight,
How I’ll hate going out in the storm!
But if you’ll really hold me tight,
All the way home I’ll be warm.
And suddenly he leans in, pressing his lips to mine! The taste of blood is metallic and sour.
But for some mischievous reason, I don’t fight it. I’m not going to be spooked by him. So I let him kiss me for a few seconds, his tongue dancing over mine. Then he pulls back, grins widely, showing his canines in a devilish way, and keeps singing,
The fire is slowly dying,
and, my dear, we’re still good-bying.
As long as you love me so,
Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!
He chuckles loudly, steps back, his face takes on kinda darkly grimace.
"Keep your cool, Snow… You’re starting to melt down, brother. And please, stop living in a Game Master mode, will you? It’s called a God complex. Unless you wanna end up dead."
"What’s that supposed to mean?"
But Bay doesn’t answer, just takes another draw and starts to walk away, but I grab his arm. His body is like steel and doesn’t budge even when I pull him.
"Arrogance walks before a fall, Snow. Keep that in mind," my twisted brother says in an icy tone and disappears into the shadows behind the garage.
I lean my back against the wall where Bay stood moments ago.
Only one thought keeps circling back to me.
I know days of trial are coming, because my blind spot is already spreading across the horizon of the future.
All I can do is trust that Summer and I will endure whatever lies ahead.
