Page 40 of Irreconcilable Attractions (Westwend Boys #1)

The soft waves of light that scattered across the room the next morning had me slowly blinking into awareness.
My eyelids felt heavy as I took in my surroundings without really registering anything.
I pulled in a slow breath of air, trying to get my brain to connect as my muddled thoughts attempted to distinguish what had woken me.
As reality slowly started to piece itself together, the steady breathing behind me was the first thing I noticed.
The second being the heat pressed against my back.
A soft grunt left my throat as the strong arm strung over my waist pulled me in tight when I attempted to roll over.
I couldn’t hold back the sleepy smile that spread over my face.
It’d been a long time since I’d last woken in bed with another person.
I’d gotten used to the empty silence and personal space that came with sleeping alone—appreciated it even.
But right now, I was more content than I ever remembered being before.
I managed to roll myself a little more in Colton’s grasp, allowing me to comfortably prop my head on the pillow.
The sheets under me still faintly smelled of his body wash mixed with the unique scent of his skin. I buried my nose into them absentmindedly, inhaling another hit as the memories of our night came floating back to me.
Colton looked almost angelic in this moment with his features relaxed in sleep, and his hair splayed wildly.
Last night though, that face had been flushed with exertion and contorted with intense pleasure, sweat trailing down his neck and chest, and lips parted as he panted through every thrust into me.
My stomach tightened and my hole clenched at the reminder of the sensations Colton had drawn from my body.
The burn when he’d first entered me had been intense, but that and the fullness had quickly morphed into something so bone achingly good, I couldn’t find the words for it.
And then when his cock had hit my prostate, my whole body had lit up.
Every nerve ending had felt alive, rocketing me toward a precipice I’d been just as equally desperate to jump off as I’d been to stay locked in that moment.
Just thinking about it had blood rushing south and my balls tingling with the desire to repeat it all over again.
Last night had hands down been one of the best sexual experiences of my life.
That orgasm had nearly made me black out in pleasure and my mind had gone numb with all the pleasure.
But there were also hazy memories of Colton cleaning me up afterward as I fought to stay awake after the long day and two incredible climaxes.
My heart swelled with affection for the man that lay before me. He’d cared for me, both sexually and otherwise, throughout the entire night. Acting more on instinct than conscious thought, I leaned forward to press soft kisses against Colton’s jaw.
He made a subtle sound of contentment before his head tilted slightly and his lips slotted against mine.
A slow grin spread over my face as Colton continued to lazily kiss me back, even in his half-awake state.
But it didn’t take long for him to become more alert, the arm slung over my waist sliding down so he could palm at my ass cheek and simultaneously pull our hips together.
He tilted his head, sucking in air through his nose, and deepening the kiss so his tongue could slip into my mouth.
I groaned softly as his upper body rolled onto mine, his other hand coming up to grip possessively at my jaw.
My cock twitched as Colton began to pepper soft kisses along my neck before pulling away with a satisfied, lazy grin on his puffy lips.
“Damn, please wake me up like this every morning.” His voice was still rough from sleep.
I huffed out an amused laugh as my stomach swooped at the thought of Colton being the first thing I saw each morning. “I’ll do my best.”
His eyes were half-lidded as he leaned back over for slower, softer kisses.
“Morning,” he whispered against my lips.
“Morning,” I murmured back.
Our kisses stayed achingly sweet until Colton’s stomach let out a low growl and I snickered into his neck. This seemed to be a reoccurring theme between us.
“Let’s get up. I’ll make breakfast if you make our coffee.” I pulled back to look into his gorgeous green eyes.
He nodded in agreement and we both rolled from the bed, taking a small detour into the bathroom so we could take care of our bladders.
Coming back into the bedroom, Colton offered me a t-shirt and boxers from his dresser.
I couldn’t explain the feeling that came over me as I pulled the soft material of the well-worn shirt over my head and stepped into the underwear.
It had my heart pattering away in my ribcage and my throat clogging with an emotion I couldn’t quite name.
This was another one of those shockingly intimate moments between Colton and I that made me realize how absent these feelings had been in my past relationships.
We made our way into the kitchen shortly after getting dressed and Colton quickly busied himself with getting our coffees made while I pulled out the ingredients for a simple meal of bacon and eggs.
We’d done this same routine what felt like a hundred times before today, but there was something in the air that was different.
It was warm and tender, but charged with a sexual undercurrent that made me all too aware when Colton’s body was near mine.
Each time we caught the other’s eye, we’d share a smile that let me know I wasn’t the only one feeling the shift.
The coffee hardly took any time at all to put together, considering the programming on the espresso machine.
Once they were done, Colton slid mine to me on the counter and then plastered himself against my back.
My body instantly settled into his, pressing back into the familiar comfort.
It was crazy how quickly I’d become accustomed to having him right here but, it felt right all the same.
“How are you feeling?” He asked, resting his chin against my shoulder.
“Fine, honestly.” I admitted, flipping the bacon in the pan. “My ass is a little sore, but it doesn’t bother me. Having the reminder you fucked my brains out last night is nice.”
I grinned as Colton groaned, pressing his hips into my ass and causing my cock to twitch at the sensation.
“I wasn’t too rough?” He asked after a moment, his voice small.
I shook my head and plated the bacon before turning in his hold to look at him. “No, you were fantastic. Everything about last night was fucking amazing.”
He shot me a slight smile and sighed.
“I wanted to be gentler with you. It was your first time, but I think I lost my head somewhere in the middle.” His fingers came up to gingerly rub along my neck.
Did he leave more hickeys? I didn’t care if he did—honestly, I’d love having more proof of him on my skin, but the way he was looking at me made my heart squeeze .
“Hey,” I lowered my head slightly to catch his gaze. “I’m not made of glass, and even though it was my first time, I didn’t want you to treat me that way. If I didn’t like anything we did, I would have stopped you.” I ran my hands up and down his arms softly.
He looked at me through his lashes, his green eyes searching my face for something before he crooked a gentle smile.
Slowly, he leaned in and pressed a tender kiss to my lips that lingered.
It felt weighted with so many emotions and things unsaid, causing my heart to once again beat wildly in my chest.
When he pulled away, I was nearly panting, my mind racing to figure out what was happening between us. But instead of offering any explanation, Colton popped one ass cheek lightly, effectively breaking the mood, as a devious grin spread over his features.
“Well, I aim to please, so next time I’ll have you begging to come on my cock.” His voice was husky and he shot me a wink that went straight to my balls as he took his coffee to the kitchen table.
I rolled my eyes, trying to play off how much the idea of a next time turned me on, and faced the stove to finish making our breakfast. I’d never admit it aloud, but there was something inside me that hummed at the idea of having all my next times being with Colton.
A week later, the weather had officially moved into the ‘dangerously hot in the afternoon’ part of the summer.
Given that, Colton and I had decided we needed to table our semi-regular basketball games—at least until cooler temperatures came back.
Neither one of us wanted to risk heat stroke from how hard we pushed the other on the court.
But, exercise was still a very important part of my routine, and while I understood the reasoning, I had been a little bummed to be losing out on that time with Colton.
As an alternative, though, he had suggested we start running together in the early mornings which in theory had been a fantastic compromise.
Except, a certain blond seemed to struggle with dragging himself from bed more often than not. And I couldn’t say I blamed him.
