His lips tilted into a ghost of a smile

“Some things never change,” he muttered.

I crawled up over his body, positioning myself over him.

“Like this?” I bit my bottom lip, trying to angle him inside.

Aiden hissed in agreement when I finally sunk down over him.

“I love you,” he spoke the words ardently as he looked up at me. Heavily pregnant, I was having trouble figuring out exactly how to move so we both enjoyed it. It’s not like I remembered anything. “Lean back, grab my thighs.”

“Have we already done this position?” I asked, following his instructions. “Oh!” I yelped in pleasure at the friction it created when I moved against him.

“No.” Aiden jerked slightly, meeting my thrusts.

The import of it sunk in. We were trying something new, something different. It was a first for both of us. I didn't have to worry about comparing it with something I couldn't remember anymore.

“You look so fucking hot right now,” Aiden growled. “Lips bruised from my kisses, breasts engorged and that stomach swollen from growing my pup.”

His words made me hot all over. And the way he talked about my body, as if it was a temple to be worshipped made me remember something else. I leaned forward into him, my breath tickling his jaw.

“Mark me,” Ipleaded finally, moving my hair to one side. I angled my neck to give him better access. “Erase him from my body.”

Aiden had stopped and was staring at me in surprise.“So, you knew the mark wasn't mine and knew about my failure?” Aiden asked in a slow voice.

I looked at him and realized a sense of guilt and shame was engulfing him.

“I’m sorry I couldn’t protect you from him,” Aiden’s voice was tortured. I felt him start to soften inside of me.

I kissed his jaw.

“Aiden, we’re a team. You came back didn’t you? You came back for me.” my voice was husky, seductive as I kept moving against him. “I don’t remember, but from the things I know…the things I feel, there’s no one else I’d rather have as my mate. Now mark me,” I demanded firmly.

He let his hand lightly rest against my belly between us before kissing me, his tongue delved past my lips, exploring the crevices of my mouth. I hovered over him, hands clutching his shoulders, leveraging myself against him so as not to squish my stomach. I moaned when Aiden’s lips rubbed across the stretch of skin at the side of my neck before resting over Alistair’s mark. The large puncture wounds over my neck were still swollen and scabbed. Alister's wolf venom made it so that it never fully healed. It was a fact that a wolf could insert his canines repeatedly into his mate's neck. But it was also the responsibility of every male wolf to make sure he placed his mark carefully and neatly so that it didn't hurt his mate, and he could easily re-scent his mate without causing repeated pain. But this mark was made with no such intent.

“I wish I’d killed the bastard.” Aiden's voice shook.

“Do it,” Ipleaded, my body was anticipating the thrill of it. Something told me it would feel good. I grinded into him insistently.

His canines erupted, his tongue laving my delicate skin to prepare it for his bite. I knew Aiden was trying to select a part of my skin which was the softest so it would hurt me the least. I finally felt him sink his teeth in, letting his venom erase Alistair's mark over me and set his own in place. He was doing so with so much care and love, with his whole being.

I moaned and gyrated against him even more. White hot lights erupted behind my eyelids and Aiden sucked on my skin, canines buried deep in my neck as he moved against me as I kept undulating my hips. We kept the motions going until I didn’t. Because I fell apart in his arms and as I rode the crest of my pleasure, feeling Aiden empty himself inside of me, it was like a key unlocked a hidden compartment in my brain. Memories flooded into me, memories I'd thought were lost to me.

“Rose, I told you before and I’m telling you again, you’re the only one in my heart. I only have feelings for you. You’re the only one I want to go back home with, you are the only one I want to be with.”

“… I couldn’t take my eyes off of you. You're gorgeous. And that skirt makes your butt look more amazing than usual.”

“I like you and you always taste like cinnamon.”

“Aiden,” I breathed in awe as the memories came flooding back.

He’d laid me down on my side, a hand possessively over my stomach. His nose nuzzled in the crook of my neck as he smelled our newly mingled scents against the column of my throat.

“Screw the pack. This is about us. I love you too damn much, Rose, and I don’t want to mess up with you.”

“I chose you, Rose. Every time, I’d choose you.”

Aiden pulled back to look at me closely.
