Page 79 of He Who Sleeps
"What about dicks? Can we swing those?"
"Again, are you five?!" Easton looked exasperated but was saved from saying anything else by the first course coming out.
“I’m not saying destiny at all,” she offered, winking at Leo’s cheeky words. “And none of you are the Highlander. If anything, He Who Sleeps is the Highlander,” she offered as she picked up her fork. “I am saying that even the first time, it didn’t feel like I was in danger with you. I told Emerson this.”
“She did.”
“And Leo.” She nodded to the lunatic across from her. “Standing there with the lot of you in your masks, it was daunting, and a bit frightening, but it felt like opportunity, and not like I was a hair’s breadth away from checking out for good. That feeling stuck with me.”
"It does kind of feel like there was something at work, though," Carter said thoughtfully. "I know a couple of us talked about it, but the odds of finding a woman in that moment who wouldn't freak the fuck out is astronomical. Billions to one."
“And yet here she is,” Rix said with a savage grin. “So we shouldn’t waste her...”
She didn’t want to think about them leaving for the holidays, to get permission for this to happen for real. In her eyes they were already forever and anyone that tried to stop that, she would hurt. She wasn’t losing them.
She smiled at her most volatile lover. “I don’t think you guys ever would.”
They finished eating in silence, each of them thoughtful and pensive, at least until the staff came in, took away their plates, brought in a cart filled with desserts, and then bowed to Emerson. “Happy birthday, sir. We will take our leave now. We will be back tomorrow for breakfast.”
“Thank you. And safe home,” he said as they closed the door. “Now the real fun can start.”
"I'm so fucking over plates." Leo shoved his aside with a wicked gleam in his eye. "Anyone else feel like eating some of that birthday cake from bare naked skin?"
“As usual you got the right idea, though...” He looked to her. “Only if she wants it.”
She nodded. “All of you?” She looked around the room.
"The table is certainly big enough," Finn said, sliding his plate away to the end of the table.
"I'll just put Brutus in our room," Carter chuckled, standing up and heading for the door, the enormous dog at his heels. "The last thing we want is for him to get the wrong idea and try to join in."
“Total drama,” Jack agreed. “Or worse, he might think we are hurting her in a bad way.”
"She does make some...interesting vocal choices in the throes of passion," Leo teased.
“Depends on how you play that instrument,” Rix said, his eyes on her.
"We all know I'm the musical maestro," Finn said.
"He does play me like a violin," she offered.
"Is that a challenge?" Emerson asked.
"If we've all got to take turns this might get pretty boring." Leo feigned a yawn. "How about we all just lick her at the same time and see what kind of sounds she makes?"
"Someone grab her. Look at her, she's all but vibrating in that seat. Bet she’s soaked that dress thru," Emerson said. "Toss her on the table..."
"Maybe not toss," Carter cautioned, re-entering the room. "First person to land her in the hospital for throwing her around on solid wood furniture gets a solid right hook from each of us."
Emerson chuckled and picked up a large pillow. “Better, Carter? I always enjoy my dessert presented to me on a silken pillow.”
Petra giggled and looked up at them all. Hungry gazes and high color in their cheeks. Guess the idea of her as dessert was really doing it for them. It was doing it for her.
"What do you say, Petra?" Finn took a long swallow of his wine. "You want to stand up and take that pretty dress off and let us eat off you?"
In response she did stand and untied the tie at her waist, letting the soft material slip from her body. She was naked, proudly, feeling both sexy and wanton with the looks on their faces directed at her.
“Sweet hell...” Emerson growled.
