“Dom?” Seth shifted hisweight from one foot to the other.

“Yeah?” When Domenicomoved, the smashed-in face came into view and Seth had to avert his eyes, so hefocused on Dom’s nose and mouth.

“You’re dirty,” Sethsaid with a tiny smile, feeling just a sting of pleasure when Dom’s pink tongueslipped out of his mouth to lap at the blood-stained lips.

Chapter 17

It was already brightoutside when they finished cleaning the corridor and living room, erasing anytraces and smells of what came about that night. After that, they needed toclean themselves, and even the ever-efficient Dom took long in the shower.

Seth hissed at the laststitch put in place on his arm. It hurt, and he looked away, but bit on hislips and sucked it up. As much as he wanted to avoid the stitches, there was nofighting Dom about the issue, so he just sat there in pain, tired and pressinga frozen steak on the back of his head. All he got to fight the pain was aglass of whiskey, but his impromptu surgeon was fairly quick and more skilledthan Seth wanted to let on.

Seth was tired, yet tooaware of what had happened to sleep, so he reached for the whiskey to pourhimself another glass. Dom gave him some pointers on sewing up a wound, whatneeded to be cleaned after murder, and the conversation even strayed totreating bullet wounds. For him, it had to be just another opportunity fortraining. For Seth, it was dreamlike, yet as real as the sharp blade that hadcut him tonight.

Someone in their Familybetrayed their trust, and they needed to find out from the girl who it was, noweven more than ever. Seth was to marry a woman he didn’t even know and therewas no running from that. He had witnessed the death of two people, yet didn’tfeel all that touched. They came to kill him and Dom, they wanted revenge, andinstead it was Seth who got the satisfaction. Served them right.

A soft brush of a mouthagainst the sewed-up arm pulled his attention back to Domenico, who gave him aslight smile and reached for the clean bandage. “Leave that. Too much isn’tgood.”

Seth took a deep breathand put the whiskey away, looking into Dom’s now-clean face. “First classhandiwork.” Seth tried to joke, but didn’t manage to smile.

“We need to get you apig leg to practice on,” said Dom. “That’s what I did.”

Seth blinked, for amoment unable to comprehend the practicality of that statement, but then hejust burst out laughing. So, this was his life now. Impregnating strangers andsewing up pig legs.

He got off the table hewas sitting on.

“I’m not finished.”Domenico pressed on Seth’s stomach, pushing him back to the table.

Seth moaned but strokedDom’s wet hair, unable to fight the need for affection. “What else?”

Domenico took a knife, but when Seth’s heart rate picked up at the sight, Dom cut a lemon intoquarters. As long as that blade wasn’t going into Seth’s flesh, he could relax.

Dom picked up the fruitand put it against Seth’s lips. “Here, bite on this,” he said in the same tonehe told Seth to drink whiskey.

Seth bit into the lemonwith a scowl and sucked up the sour juice until Dom pulled it away. All Sethnow wanted was more alcohol to wash it down. “What was that for?”

A little smirk adornedDom’s lips. “Just wanted to see if you’d question an order.”

Seth slapped the side ofDom’s head, but then pulled him closer by the hair and kissed Dom with the sourlips. “Asshole.”

Domenico gasped againsthis lips but eagerly pushed his tongue deep into the bitterly sour mouth. “Weneed to tuck you in. You wouldn’t want your fresh wound unprotected.” Domenicowas swiftly dressing the cut, with complete focus marring his forehead.

“You saying I need a bitof ‘nip and tuck’?” Seth snorted.

The complete and utterlack of understanding displayed on Domenico’s face extinguished any attempt atjoking on Seth’s side. “What does that even mean?”

“Never mind.” Sethsighed. “It’s this TV show about plastic surgeons…”

If possible, Domenico’sbrows went even higher. “Who would be watchingthat?”

Seth pouted. He did. Itwas one of the rare shows both him and Peter liked. “I said never mind. Youdon’t have to be so judgmental. Can I go?”

“Do you want to makelove?”

That got Seth’sattention right back on Dom. “Huh?” He swallowed and all sorts of cramps ranthrough his stomach. He’d call them ‘butterflies’, but with Dom they were mothsat best. Just as lively, but uncomfortable in daylight, creatures of the night, like Seth’s lust for Dom.

Domenico leaned in andkissed his shoulder again. Some of his wet hair tickled Seth’s skin, makingthose moths agitated again. “Hn?”

“Sex? Just like that?”Seth swallowed, but put the half-defrosted steak away and wrapped his armsaround Dom’s neck. With birds tweeting outside and the room engulfed in morningsunshine, it could have almost been romantic. If it wasn’t for the smell ofdisinfectant, the ache in his arm, and the big bruise that managed to already appearon Domenico’s chin.
