Seth looked into hiswhiskey glass, suddenly wanting to puke and then bleach his mind through theeyeballs. He wanted to fuck his own half brother. “G-good to know,” he chokedout, still in shock that his father could have cheated on his mother. And as tosmell, he wasn’t sure if Dom smelled of Villani blood, but he surely smelledfucking good. Especially after he fucked that guy in the church. It was thesmell of come, testosterone, and good cologne all rolled into one sexy scent.
Frederico sighed and puthis hand on Seth’s shoulder, squeezing it reassuringly. “I know this comes as ashock, but I hope it will make you feel better in the long run.”
“Let’s say so…” Sethnodded and downed his drink. “Thank you for your honesty, Uncle.”
“I honestly advise youto rely on him.”
There was a knock on thedoor, and without waiting for an invitation, the door opened and Domenico burstin, freezing in place when he saw theconsigliere.
“I think I have to go,”Seth grabbed his bag before gazing at his… half brother, who didn’t stoplooking insanely hot just because of the new knowledge.
“Yes, we need to go,”muttered Domenico, stepping outside. He reached out toward the staircase in asurprisingly polite gesture.
Seth said his good-byeswith his uncle once more before rushing out, straight into Dom’s clutches. Hestill didn’t trust the guy one bit, but right now, his mere presence madeSeth’s skin crawl under the black mourning suit. None of them said a thing allthe way to the car, where the same driver was waiting for them with his eyesfixed on the road.
Domenico outran Seth andopened the door for him in a mockery of being courteous.
Seth gave him the glareof death, but sat inside. “Cunt,” he muttered.
“Fag,” answeredDomenico, before slamming the door shut.
Seth’s mouth fell open, blood rushing up to his face. He didn’t even know how to respond to that. Hepushed the travel bag down between his legs.Fuck.This would not endwell. He could hardly believe the irony of it. They were both from the samefather and both gay.
Chapter 4
Domenico was the onlygood-looking object in the attic of a tiny studio in central Berlin. Eachceiling was a slope, so it was almost impossible to walk without slouching, oreven bending, except in the middle. The main room was smaller than Seth andPeter’s living room, with only one bed that wasn’t even meant for two people, aclearly secondhand wardrobe, and a table with two chairs by the small window. In the corner stood a portable gas stove and a cupboard with kitchennecessities. Other than that, they had a restroom so tiny it didn’t have adoor, with a sink the size of a soup bowl and a dirty looking toilet.
Seth was sitting on thebed and kept curling the fingers of his injured hand into a fist and thenstretching them again. “Classy place. Looks historical. I bet the mold has beenhere since World War Two.” Seth watched Dom hang his suit in the closet.
“I can give you a tour. The mold in the bathroom is even more epic,” answered Dom. He pulled out apre-packaged sandwich he got at the airport and threw it on the bed. “If you’rehungry.”
“I’m not a dog.” Sethrolled his eyes but never took his gaze off Dom. Just window-shopping. Hisblood ran faster when Domenico pulled on the band in his hair, releasing theponytail. His hair looked impossibly strong and healthy. As much as Seth hadmocked Dom’s long hair as a kid, now he considered it yet another aspect ofDom’s sex appeal.
“Well, you have to eat, just like any other animal.”
Seth grabbed thesandwich, since he didn’t know when the next time he would eat was going tocome. “Might as well. I’m tired. Can’t we go shopping?”
“No, not at this hour.Wrong country,” chuckled Dom as he pulled his shirt over his head andcarelessly dropped it to the floor.
Seth inched away, as ifthe rays of hotness would hit him, and he would succumb, falling to his kneesand revealing his own sexuality in the process. “Yeah, I… what?” He didn’treally get what Dom was saying, focused on his fit body with quite a few scarsscattered all over his torso. “What about tomorrow?”
“Whatabouttomorrow?” repeated Domenico, pulling one chair away from the table and closerto the bed. He sat on it, back to front, hugging the backrest with his firmthighs.
“I mean… It’s Tuesday. Is someone following us or something?” Seth bit into his sandwich, trying tothink unsexy thoughts.Mold on the ceiling.Nah, he still had the hotsfor Dom.
Domenico crossed hisarms on top of the backrest, flexing the muscles that seemed packed impossiblytight into the sleeve of his olive-colored skin. Raven black hair fell over oneof his shoulders, caressing one side of his face. “I don’t know yet. Betterkeep your head low and let me know what you want from the store.”
“Why can’t I go?” Sethinched back on the bed with his mouth full. He wanted back some control overhis life. He wasn’t a baby. The way Dom’s eyes followed his moves made Sethfeel like prey, and he hated enjoying it.
“No. I’m responsible for your safety, and for nowyou aren’t to leave this place without me.”
Seth looked down at hissandwich, feeling patronized. He was freaking twenty-six. He looked at the wallto avoid ogling Dom’s stomach. “So this girl we’re gonna watch, Vera, she livesclose?”
Domenico smiled andnodded at the window. “She will be returning home soon. You might take a lookif you like. Apparently, she often forgets to draw the curtains when shechanges.”
“Yeah?” Seth lay back onthe bed and looked at the window. “Free peep show?”
“That’s what I heard.”
