Domenico snorted, glancing Silvio’s way only to ruffle Seth’s hair next. “You did well on that.”
“Prick.” Seth pouted butdidn’t pull back from the hug.
Silvio smirked.“Domenico said I’d watch you to make sure everything goes smoothly, so don’tworry. You’ll get your hands dirty.”
Seth wasn’t all thatsure anymore if it was a good thing or a bad thing. “And… where will we keepher?” he asked, completely out of his depth.
Domenico looked at hiselegant and ridiculously expensive watch. “You will be happy to hear that we’removing. We pick up the keys to our new apartment in two hours. We leave as soonas you take a shower.”
“Oh. And… how long willwe keep her? Will we feed her?” Seth tried to make sense of the situation.
Domenico groaned androlled his eyes. “We won’t starve her to death. That wouldn’t be practical.”
“Starving people takesages. How long are you planning to keep her?” asked Silvio, looking out to themfrom behind the wardrobe door.
Domenico shrugged.“She’s gonna yield quickly. I wouldn’t worry about that.”
Seth looked down at hisfingers. Now that the idea of strangling Vera was becoming a possibility, itwasn’t all that attractive anymore. “So… how will we organize all of it?”
Dom scowled and pulledout a cigarette. The lighter briefly cast a warm glow on his face, and thefamiliar scent of tobacco drew Seth right in. “What?”
“I mean... her stayingwith us.” Seth swallowed, the memory of being abducted creeping out from theback of his mind. “How will it be? Will she just sit there? Err...”
“She’ll be locked awayin a separate room. I found just the right place for that.”
“What if she screams?Dom, I have a bad feeling about this.” Seth finally looked up at him.
“Then we’ll gag her.”Domenico sighed, his face softening when he looked at Seth. “There’s nothing toworry about. It’s just a woman in high heels. What could she possibly do?”
“Stilettos can be prettydeadly,” Silvio added as he put on his pants.
Seth already envisionedthat Louboutin piercing his foot. “I know, I know, sorry,” he muttered and ranhis fingers through his hair. He didn’t want to seem like a coward, but nerveswere already getting the best of him.
“The tricky part willcome now.” Domenico reached into his jacket and produced a square box thatlooked like something that would contain a necklace. He handed it over to Seth.“We need to be convincing when we meet our new landlord.”
Seth frowned but slowlyopened the box, half-expecting it to explode. He blinked at the sight of aspiked dog collar. “Having a dog makes us better tenants in what sense?”
The wicked smile growingon Dom’s lips wasn’t helping Seth understand.
Chapter 13
Seth frowned at the paton the ass he got from Dom in front of their new landlord. They were standingin the living room of a spacious modern apartment. It had an open plan kitchenfull of new appliances, a flat-screen TV, leather sofas, and neutral decor witha small palm tree by the window and a big photo of the Eiffel tower on thewall.
The dog collar Seth waswearing stifled his breath, even though it wasn’t pulled tight. Metaphoricallythough, it made him feel all itchy and angry. He had to stand there like anidiot, as Dom spoke to their landlord in German, clearly talking about him. Theman kept ogling Seth with a smile as he talked to Domenico in a jovial voice.
After having his T-shirtand briefs cut into pieces just a few hours ago, all he had left to wear werehis jeans and leather jacket over naked skin. It wasn’t helping him feel lessobjectified.
Seth had a role to playhere. He was pretending to be Domenico’s submissive, an excuse for them to seekan apartment with a playroom that locked from the outside, and so he was forcedto have his hands cuffed behind his back as soon as they went in and waswearing a harness over his naked chest. The cell itself made him both nervousand strangely excited. Despite its modest size, it had lots of torturefurniture, including a big wooden X that was known as St. Andrew’s cross, andvarious other restrains. Seth was surprised when Dom put his hand on his nape, again pushing him toward the room. The confidence of the touch sent a tingle ofexcitement down to Seth’s balls.
Guessing from theirlandlord’s wide smile and constant nodding, compliance wasn’t optional. Stayingin an enclosed room was making his stomach twist, but he went in anyway. Thepadded walls were a reminder that no screams would be heard once the door ofthe cell closed.
“Sit in the chair,” saidDomenico in what sounded like a very elegant British accent. It was followed byanother brief conversation with the landlord.
Seth followed the order,an eeriedéjà vuof another place and time when he sat with his hands cuffed, crawled out from the back of his mind. “But he won’t do anything to me, right?”he whispered in Italian, looking up at Dom, who shook his head and walked over, step by step until he was close enough to pet Seth’s cheek.
“Relax, I know it’s allnew. I’m going to restrain you now so you can get used to your new home,” Domsaid in English.
Seth swallowed andnodded. The chair was attached to the floor, so there wouldn’t be any chancefor movement. Their landlord was big, buff, and bald. He kept grinning andchatting to Dom, and as much as his gaze kept sliding over Seth, the man neversaid a word to him. No introduction, nothing.
