With both of them, it kept me from spinning off into oblivion.
Proving to us all that this was the secret.
This was how we would control the Shard.
This was how we would beat Etu.
And most of all, this was how I would finally befree.
A smile crestedmy lips as I indulged in the thrum of pleasure and power from my Omega coursing through my system.
Fly, Gina. Be free.
As much as I wanted to go to her, it would have been selfish of me to abandon my mission when she was being well cared for. I wasn’t sure how she’d escaped the Collegium, but obviously she had.
Because Axel’s and her union was a warmth bursting inside my soul. They freely walked the Web in a way the Collegium would never have allowed. Her pleasure washed over me like familiar fire and my body hummed in response, eager to provide my Omega with the aftercare she likely needed.
But that would have to wait.
First, I needed to find Professor Findlay and grill him for information on the Artifact that had led me to the Water Fae Kingdom.
There would be more pieces of Gina’s soul out there. I didn’t imagine Professor Findlay would be cooperative, but I could be convincing when I wanted to be.
One way or another, I would track down the others, or burn the world trying.
Which meant I needed some recuperation. My Dust reserves were running thin and so was my energy.
I wouldn’t be any use to Gina if I fell over from Dust deprivation and exhaustion, so I would refill my stores and then I would find the professor.
Resting my palm on the handle to my dorm room, I frowned when I found it open.
“Anyone home?” I asked as I ventured inside.
I didn’t have a full mate-bond established with Seifiek, so I couldn’t feel if he was with Gina or not. Although, I suspected he was. Axel couldn’t have been strong enough to handle Gina’s current state.
Which left only one other member in our mate-circle.
I raised a brow when I found Zeke wearing a horrible outfit that practically covered him from head to toe. His damp hair suggested he’d just showered and he ignored me while packing a suitcase in our bedroom.
I leaned against the door frame, waiting for him to acknowledge me.
He didn’t.
Instead, he seemed lost in his task, dutifully folding each shirt and running his thumb down the edge to create perfect creases.
The long-sleeved shirt he wore was baggy and unbecoming. Black, too, when I preferred green on him to flatter his coloring. The pants did him few favors, draping over his muscular ass like a tent.
What the fuck is he wearing?
“I haven’t seen you wear a shirt in a while,” I said, startling him. He froze for a moment, then gently placed the dress shirt on top of a pair of pants. “Where are you going that you need one now?”
Zeke didn’t reply. Instead, he walked to the dresser, his baggy clothes rippling around his powerful body, and pulled out something I never expected him to wear again.
A priest’s robe from the House of Wisdom.
Which explained his current ensemble. Those were hisunderclothes.
Both my brows shot up. “What the fuck is going on, Zeke?”
