Silver. Reflecting. Going round and round.
“Who are you?”a past version of me asked. I couldn’t see the memory, but it echoed all around me like a storm trying to fight its way in.
“Seif,”he responded, making my eyes go wide.
I drew in a deep, desperate breath as the memory continued.
The Web was showing me something that had already happened. This was the first time I had met Seif.
Not when I had physically met him, but when he had called me as his Omega for the first time.
“I saw my mother die,”the Alpha from my past told me.
He continued to explain why he had rejected the Dark Source. Why he needed me and that he would die without me.
And that I, too, would die, without him.
All the while his voice awakened my Omega’s senses. Need thrummed through my body like electricity, burning as it went.
Fear constricted around my heart as I remembered where I had been and what I had felt.
An itching desire to flee coursed through me and my heart thundered blood through my ears.
Run!my instincts told me.
Run and never look back!
I wasn’t just running from an Alpha, but from the vision that would come crashing down onto me if I gave him what he wanted. The darkness spanned all around me, both in the past and right now, pressing in until I couldn’t breathe.
Seifiek and the storm were one.
The storm wanted to crush me.
Seifiek wanted to break me and form me into a tool for his own purpose.
He wanted what all Alphas did. He wanted to use me for his own desires.
Yes, it was unfortunate that he’d seen his mother’s death in a vision, but I wasn’t going to be mated to an Alpha just because he didn’t like his future.
I would mate for love.
For destiny.
Tears pricked my eyes as I remembered why I had fled from Seif. Why I had fought him so hard.
Why he had deserved to be in that cell where I had found him.
The darkness of the vision he brought with him expanded until I couldn’t even see the room.
Thunder cracked across the Web and I knew what that darkness was now.
It was Etu.
And I needed torun.
Flinging the bedsheets away from me, I turned on my heel and gave in to my body’s screaming desire to flee.
Only to slam into my Alpha’s chest.
