Gu Xiaoxi turned around and began picking fruit.
But there were too many fruits on the tree, and soon her basket was full.
Her abilities inside her body could no longer support her to continue picking.
She had no choice but to land on the ground.
Luo Yi saw this and immediately roared angrily, "Why stop."
"My abilities are insufficient, please let me rest a bit," Gu Xiaoxi bowed her head, gripping her secretly turned-on phone under her sleeve.
However, her small movement was immediately discovered by Luo Yi.
With just a flick of his hand, she was sent flying backward, and her phone instantly flew far away.
Gu Xiaoxi’s back slammed violently against the Tree of Immortality behind her, and she spit out blood.
Seeing this, the beasts lying on the ground immediately revealed their claws and furiously pounced toward Luo Yi.
Gu Xiaoxi mustered her strength, wanting to stop them, but it was already too late.
In just an instant, blood splattered everywhere, and a large number of ferocious beasts fell, instantly turning into a river of blood.
Luo Yi snorted coldly and with a wave of his hand, the basket on the ground flew into his grasp.
Looking at the basket full of fruit, he revealed a proud and sinister smile.
"Child of God, before you fully awaken, you’re nothing but a mortal, yet you dare to fight with me," Luo Yi sneered and looked at Gu Xiaoxi again, "I won’t kill you, nor will I disrupt the heavenly order. Just pick all the fruits for me, and we’ll let your companions and these low-level beasts go."
Gu Xiaoxi, propping herself up, picked up the phone dropped on the ground, only to find there was no signal at all.
"Wishing for someone to rescue you is a mere pipe dream. The Nether Sea is a sacred place from Ancient Times, not somewhere ordinary people can casually enter. Do as I say, and do it faster," he instructed.
Gu Xiaoxi gritted her teeth, her mouth full of the taste of blood.
She couldn’t help but angrily tighten her grip on the dagger in her hand.
Facing these people, she was at a disadvantage from the start.
She also realized the gap in strength between herself and them.
Was she really going to submit to them?
Propping herself up against the trunk of the tree, Gu Xiaoxi stood up, her clothes already stained with blood.
She tidied her somewhat messy hair, employed Qinggong, and leaped up, jumping among the branches to pick fruit.
When daylight broke, she had picked the last piece of fruit.
Luo Yi raised his hand, gathering terrifying power in his palm, and sneered coldly, threatening Gu Xiaoxi venomously, "I might not kill you, but I will make you a cripple for life. This is my revenge for a grudge of ten thousand years!"
Gu Xiaoxi was horrified, with very little power left to use.
Instinctively, she retreated in hopes of dodging his attack.
But unexpectedly, like an insignificant ant, she was hit by a force and sent flying.
And it was at that moment, a vast power surged from her forehead.
In an instant, time seemed to come to a standstill.
The power from her third eye actually blocked Luo Yi’s attack for her.
Gu Xiaoxi widened her eyes in shock and then realized – this was the drop of blood Mi Xi left in her third eye that she had triggered.
Just then, the sky suddenly turned overcast with clouds, with flashes of lightning and roaring thunder, the dark clouds tumbling in the wind.
Startled, Gu Xiaoxi lost her balance and fell from the treetop to the ground.
Looking up, she saw a beautiful man in white clothes stepping on the dark clouds, speeding towards her from a distance.
"Mi Xi?" Gu Xiaoxi, holding onto a tree branch, immediately cried out in surprise.
"Chaos, how dare you be so defiant as to slay your lord," Mi Xi quickly arrived next to Luo Yi.
The man in black, who had been quite arrogant before, was suddenly terrified and backed away in panic.
Even the basket in his hands fell from the air, and he didn’t have time to care as it tumbled to the ground.
"Mi Xi! How could you... Weren’t you dead?" Luo Yi shouted. Afterward, he glanced at Gu Xiaoxi and, without a second thought, turned and led his subordinates in a desperate escape across the sea’s surface.
Gu Xiaoxi touched her forehead, feeling as though there was a brand there, starting to heat up.
A moment later, Mi Xi landed not far in front of her, his white clothes immediately vanishing to reveal tattered garments and a body covered in blood.
Gu Xiaoxi remembered that the clothes she was now wearing were the same ones she’d worn before going to Hell.
"Mi Xi, is it really you?" Gu Xiaoxi felt her steps grow heavy, hardly able to move her feet.
Mi Xi beckoned to her, his body swaying a few times, then lifted his handsome face and broke into a smile, "What are you waiting for, come and help me."
Gu Xiaoxi immediately snapped to attention and ran forward to support his wobbly form.
Looking at the mangled flesh on his back, she was at a loss for words.
"Weren’t you in Hell? How did you manage to get out?" Gu Xiaoxi helped him sit down on the ground.
Mi Xi took a breath.
Obviously, the commotion he’d caused earlier had taken a great toll on him.
He looked at Gu Xiaoxi’s clear profile, a faint smile appearing at the corner of his mouth, "If you were in danger, of course, I had to come out to protect you."
Biting her lip, Gu Xiaoxi still asked the question that was gnawing at her, "So, how much do you know about our past lives? Like a hundred thousand years ago, about this Tree of Immortality!"
She gazed at him with bright, earnest eyes, filled with sincerity.
Mi Xi looked back at her, his expression suddenly turning complex, his deep eyes reflecting an unspeakable helplessness and heartache.
He suddenly coughed, expelling a mouthful of blood.
Right then, the Ferocious Beasts guarding the Fruit of Immortality picked up the fruits that had fallen to the ground and offered them back to Gu Xiaoxi.
"Master, these fruits have healing properties. You should feed some to Lord Mi Xi, it will heal his wounds quickly," said the beast.
Gu Xiaoxi looked at the basket full of fruits emitting the aura of the Immortal Realm, she picked one up and brought it to Mi Xi’s lips, "You need to heal your injuries first. If that guy comes back, we’ll be in trouble. We can discuss the rest after you recover."
Mi Xi lowered his head and ate the fruit from her hand.
Gu Xiaoxi promptly fed him a second one.
She had seen very clearly in Lan Xi and Mi Xi’s Illusionary Realm just a while ago; Mi Xi was a good person, always looking after Lan Xi.
He had also always looked after her.
Gu Xiaoxi, holding the sparkling white little fruit in her hands, picked one up, intending to taste it herself.
However, Mi Xi suddenly snatched the fruit from her hand, his tone stern, "This is not something you should eat."
"Why not?" Gu Xiaoxi was immediately puzzled. Why could he eat it, but she couldn’t?
"You’re a human right now, and the Fruit of Immortality is a fruit that grows in the Immortal Realm.
If humans eat it, they become neither immortal, ghost, god, nor human - a monster.
One fruit adds three hundred years to your lifespan.
.. You can eat up to ten, living for three thousand years.
But during those three thousand years, you can only wander the mortal world and cannot enter into Reincarnation after death.
The end of your lifespan would be soul dissipation. "
"You cannot eat it!" Mi Xi said with grave air, stuffing the fruit into his own mouth.
Not far away, Jing Haoran and Su San, who had picked up fruits and were about to eat them, abruptly took the Fruits of Immortality out of their mouths, spitting reflexively in fright.
How terrifying, despite extending life, the only outcome after death would be soul dissipation.
"What about you? Aren’t you afraid?" Gu Xiaoxi clearly saw that Mi Xi had eaten more than ten fruits.
"I’m not human, what’s there to fear?" Mi Xi said, then ate another dozen or so fruits.
His wounds were healing at a visibly rapid pace.
Gu Xiaoxi also took the opportunity to circulate her cultivation to recuperate.
The Spiritual Energy here was the most concentrated in the world, and soon, her Inner Strength and the Spiritual Energy in her seas of energy were restored.
A moment later, she too felt much more revived.
After that, she healed both Jing Haoran’s and Su San’s injuries.
Jing Haoran and Su San felt like they had stumbled into the Immortal Realm by mistake, learning some secrets they could not comprehend.
"Master, what should we do with these Fruits of Immortality?" Tiger King asked worriedly, "People who came looking for the Fruits of Immortality are around the perimeter, some of them have been scared off by the bodies scattered about, but a group of them is heading this way."
Gu Xiaoxi had no idea what to do and looked up at Mi Xi, "Can’t you eat them? They also heal wounds; all of them are yours."
"This thing cannot be seen by outsiders, and I can’t take so many with me, nor can I eat them all at once. Gu Xiaoxi, use your spells to summon them and store them in your sea of energy," Mi Xi instructed.
Gu Xiaoxi rolled her eyes, "Are you joking? I don’t have that ability!"
Mi Xi stood up from the ground, his gaze turning solemn as he looked into the distance, "I’ll teach you! Follow my hand gestures and chant."
Despite feeling full of doubts, Gu Xiaoxi was reassured when Mi Xi said she was just an ordinary person.
As for her past life—or future life—she was content with just this one.
So, she followed Mi Xi’s gestures, forming hand seals.
