“I appreciate a woman who can tell it like it is.”
I escorted her to the elevator, and once we were in the carriage, I pressed the button for the top floor of the hotel—the Whisky Room.
It was my favorite part of the hotel. Leather couches, dark wooden floors, gas fireplaces, dim lighting. And every wall was made of glass that showcased the Dallas skyline. This room was impressive and imposing.
I was already making plans in my mind to fuck her against one of the windows while she stared at the city below.
“We have the place entirely to ourselves,” she noted.
“There was a private party earlier,” I explained. I guided her to the bar on the far side of the room. “Pick your poison.”
I reluctantly moved away from her so I could tend bar.
“Scotch,” she said, not taking her eyes off me. “Neat.”
My smile was slow and full of appreciation. “Do you have a scotch preference?”
“Surprise me.”
I picked up two rocks glasses and then grasped the bottle of SINNERS. “This is from a small, family-owned distillery. Tell me how you like it.” I slid the glass to her.
She picked it up and sniffed it, her delicate nostrils twitching. She moaned, giving me insight into the noises she was going to make when I made her come.
“Smells divine.”
“Tastes better.”
She took a sip, swirling it on her tongue before swallowing it.
I reached across the bar and swept my thumb at the corner of her lips my eyes never leaving hers.
“So, what do you think?” I asked.
“About the scotch or you?”
“Both.”
“The scotch is perfect. Magic, mist, and peat. I’m still not sure about you.”
I grabbed my glass and gestured with my head in the direction of the gas fireplace. While she took a seat on the leather couch, I turned the fireplace on.
“That’s one hell of a dress,” I said. “I can’t wait to take it off you.”
She arched a brow. “You’re forward.”
“So are you.”
“You haven’t introduced yourself yet,” she pointed out. “You’re still technically a stranger. My mother would have heart palpitations if she realized I’d left a casino with a complete stranger.”
I held out my hand to her. “Ramsey Buchanan. Now when you tell your mother about the devastatingly handsome man who swept you off your feet, she won’t have any reason to be concerned.”
She grinned and took my offered hand. She didn’t let go of my palm right away. “I’m Lex.” She skimmed her fingers across my knuckles. “Ramsey. That’s not a name I’m going to forget anytime soon.”
“It’s the name you’ll be screaming until you’re hoarse.”
“You’re arrogant.”
“You like it.”
