I smiled. “This is why you’re the father of my children.”
Chapter25
QUINN
“No,”I said. “I don’t like that. How doyoulike that?”
“What do you mean how do I like that?” Sasha asked. “It’s a castle, and you want a castle.”
“It wasoncea castle. Now it’s a ruin. And it’s an hour away from Barrett and Flynn. Besides, we can’t stay here for months on end while it’s being restored. We need something now.”
“Why move to a country with so much history just to buy something new?” he asked in confusion. “I think it would be the adventure of a lifetime to restore a six-hundred-year-old castle like this to its former glory. This property even has a moat, Quinn. We could have a literal moat.”
“You’re off your rocker.”
“Barrett and Flynn wouldn’t mind if we stayed with them for a while. They have enough space.”
I shook my head. “We took them by surprise when we showed up here unannounced. They’re good sports, but they need to be able to get back to their lives.”
“It’s only been a few days, Quinn.”
“A few days…that could turn into weeks. Months if we buy a ruin.”
“I’d never let it come to that,” Sasha said. “We’ll buy a townhome and stay in that while we have the castle remodeled.”
“Fine. It’s not just about staying with them for months on end. You’re talking about putting in plumbing, wiring a ruin for electrical, and rebuilding stone walls. Stone walls, Sasha! All because of a moat? Can’t we just move into a place that’s already been modernized?”
“Where’s your sense of adventure?”
“I want to be settled,” I admitted. “I want stability. I want something that’s already beautiful. I don’t want potential; I want the end result already.”
“I can understand that,” he said. “I just thought it would be an experience.”
“It would be,” I admitted. “But it would take so much time.”
“So, we’ll throw money at the problem.” He shrugged. “I can have it done for you in a few months.”
I sighed. “This is important to you, isn’t it?”
“I want to give you something, Quinn. Something beautiful, and something that will last. I want you to walk from room to room and decorate it in your style. I want enough bedrooms that we can have five children if we want them.”
“Five,” I murmured. “Oh my.”
He grinned. “Just one would be fine though. Helena’s enough if you feel that way.”
“You want more children, don’t you? I saw how you looked at Hawk. You want a boy.”
“I wouldn’t say no to a boy.”
“Fathers and sons.” I nodded. “I understand. We can try for a boy next.”
“Can we try right now?” he teased.
“Here? In Flynn’s study?”
“The rug looks soft.” His blue eyes twinkled with devilment.
He’d be up for a good time. He always was.
