CHAPTER TWENTY
Dean
Istepped out of theshower in the bathroom attached to my office. It was Friday night and Ashlyn and I had a charity event we were attending with my parents. As I toweled off, my mind immediately went to her. My chuckle bounded off the walls as I pictured her shocked gaze the night we’d met here. Then the heat in her eyes as they raked over my body and how insanely turned on I’d been.
Shit!My cock hardened at the thought, and I cleared my mind before I had to step back in the shower to relieve myself. We’d been fake dating for two weeks now and everything was perfect.
Grabbing my tux hanging on the back of the door, I dressed in record time and quickly styled my hair. Ashlyn was waiting for me to pick her up, and I’d promised my parents we wouldn’t be late. I threw my gym clothes in the hamper, put on my Rolex, and checked my appearance one more time in the mirror.
A faint rustling sound filtered through the door. It sounded like someone moving around in my office. Which was strange because I was pretty damn sure I’d locked it.
Had Ashlyn decided to meet me here?
I grabbed my phone to see if I’d missed a text from her as I opened the door into my office. My gaze swept over the space, and I did a double-take.
“Simone? What are you doing here?”
She sat curled up on my couch. Her lower lip stuck out as she pouted. Someone needed to tell her that she didn’t look sexy when she did that. She looked like a mutinous teenager instead. But it was not going to be me.
I needed her out of my office pronto.
“Baby come on. You can’t tell me you’re not happy to see me.”
“I’m not happy to see you.” I stared at her, waiting for her to get the hint and leave. But she didn’t. “I locked my door. How did you get in?” I demanded.
She stood and sashayed her way to stand before me. A single fingernail ran down the front buttons of my dress shirt—the red a sharp contrast against the white I wore. “Locked? No, I knocked, but when you didn’t answer, I came in to wait for you. When I heard the shower going, I considered joining you.” She stood on her tiptoes and placed her lips against mine.
My head jerked back. “What are you doing?”
“Dean, I’ve missed you.”
“I’m with someone, Simone.” I wanted to wipe off the feeling of her kiss. Even though we weren’t really dating, this all felt like a betrayal to Ashlyn.
“Ugh, that girl from the picture in the paper?”
“Yes.”
“Dean, I know the real reason for that picture. You can’t fool me.”
Sweat beaded and slid down my back. How had she found out?
