Story: Ember Dragon
Kasa rampaged through the formation, and unexpectedly, Dolo stepped forward to confront him directly.
As a dragon-blooded kin, the dragon-blooded hobgoblin commander stood four meters tall, his muscular body covered in scales, appearing giant-like to ordinary soldiers.
But before the towering Frost Giant Kasa, Dolo barely reached his waist, making him look like a mere dwarf in stark contrast.
Facing such a formidable foe, Dolo showed no fear and shouted fiercely:
"Foolish giant, I will end you!"
He leaped into the air, raising his Bloodfire Battleaxe above his head and striking down toward Kasa.
"Clang!"
The sharp sound of metal colliding echoed.
The Bloodfire Battleaxe clashed against Winter’s Roar, sending sparks flying.
Dolo put all his strength into the strike, but Kasa effortlessly blocked it with a single arm, holding his axe horizontally.
"Such a weak attack—how dare you challenge me!"
"Clang—"
Kasa’s bulging arm muscles tightened as he exerted force, sending Dolo flying over ten meters.
Dolo rolled several times on the ground, his arms numb from the impact, his entire body weakened.
"What terrifying strength,"
he muttered, using his axe for support as he struggled to stand.
But above him, he heard the howling wind and the roaring of the giant.
"Die, you weakling!"
Kasa, unwilling to give his opponent a chance to recover, leaped once more, bringing Winter’s Roar down with unstoppable force and the fury of a gale, aiming for Dolo’s head.
If the strike landed, Dolo’s scaled, sturdy body would be cleaved in two like paper.
Staring up at the descending axe, Dolo’s pupils dilated, and he barely managed to cry out:
"Save me!"
At the last moment, an invisible wall of force materialized in front of him.
It was 【Wall of Force】.
The immense power behind the axe struck the force wall, creating a deafening boom and ripples in the surrounding space.
Not far away, Langpu stood with his staff raised in one hand and the glowing "Bennett’s Wisdom" amulet in the other, his expression calm.
"Oh? Magic?"
"Ha! Relying on external magic? You’re not even worthy to be my opponent!"
Kasa sneered maliciously.
He hefted Winter’s Roar and casually vaulted over the force wall, closing in on Dolo’s back.
"Dolo, stall this Frost Giant!"
Langpu, without hesitation, activated the dozens of magical items on his body. Enchanted auras illuminated him as he released a barrage of meticulously prepared spells, channeling them into the dragon-blooded hobgoblin.
Enlarge Person, Haste, Shield, Energy Resistance, Bear’s Endurance, Bull’s Strength, Cat’s Grace.
In mere moments, Dolo's size swelled to nearly eight meters, matching the Frost Giant before him.
Layers of magical shields enveloped his body, enhancing every attribute beyond imagination.
Breathing heavily, Dolo felt a surge of power coursing through him and roared excitedly:
"Damn it, Langpu, if you could do this, why didn’t you use it sooner?"
"Stall him?"
"I feel like I could kill him now!"
Dolo let out an enraged roar and charged at Kasa, swinging his Bloodfire Battleaxe, now the size of a hand axe, directly at the giant’s head.
"Clang—"
The sound of metal clashing rang out again.
The axe met Winter’s Roar, but this time Kasa had to use both arms, and even then, he was slightly on the defensive.
Langpu seized the stalemate to unleash a barrage of fiery spells at the Frost Giant.
【Empowered Fireball】
The enhanced fireball spell, modified by Langpu over years, had reached fifth-tier potency. Not only did it amplify the destructive power of flames, but its enchantment allowed it to track targets within a certain range.
Yet Kasa tilted his head slightly, evading the precise strike with ease.
However, the dodge caused him to loosen his grip slightly.
Dolo seized the opportunity, lunging forward with a sweeping strike. The Bloodfire Battleaxe whistled through the air, aiming directly at the Frost Giant’s head.
Langpu’s magic followed suit.
【Slow】
Time and space distorted around the Frost Giant, making his movements excruciatingly slow.
Kasa attempted to retreat, but under the spell’s influence, he couldn’t fully evade. The axe grazed his cheek, leaving a narrow cut that dripped cold, dark blue blood.
"It’s been a while since I’ve bled."
"Magic or not... this is interesting."
Wiping the blood off his cheek, Kasa’s rugged face twisted into a ferocious grin, his pupils burning with a feverish lust for battle.
"I will kill you all!"
"For the Ember Kingdom!"
"Kill the enemy!"
"Eternal Frost endures!"
As Dolo, Langpu, and the Frost Giant chieftain locked in a fierce struggle, their armies clashed with equal intensity.
Hobgoblins unleashed a torrent of bullets and shells at the Frost Giants, who raised their bone shields to advance through the barrage. Once these massive beings breached the formation, they crushed dozens of soldiers with ease.
Many Frost Giants fell along the way, riddled with bullet holes and shrapnel.
Ogre heavy infantry held the front lines of the Ember Kingdom’s formation. Though smaller than their northern kin, their stout and stocky builds allowed them to withstand multiple charges from the Frost Giant cavalry.
The plains land dragons collided with tundra land dragons, creating thunderous crashes. Enhanced by dragon bloodlines, the plains land dragons often had the upper hand over their northern relatives.
Chimeras and wyverns made repeated strafing runs, engulfing the battlefield in flames to slow the Frost Giants’ advance.
However, they were not immune to the Frost Giants’ hurled boulders or to being pulled from the sky by leaping giants. Once grounded, they were as good as dead.
One female chimera was pinned by Baya, who mimicked his brother by snapping the creature’s three spines with his bare hands, earning cheers from his fellow Frost Giant warriors.
"Baya!"
"Our warrior!"
"You’re the Little Bonebreaker!"
Soon, smoke and the stench of blood filled the battlefield. Corpses of hobgoblins, ogres, wyverns, and Frost Giants alike littered the wasteland, turning this scarred terrain into a slaughterhouse once more.
