I make a fist with both hands and enjoy the way her name shines through.
A sick part of me loves that when I throw a punch, what they’ll see is my woman’s name. And they’ll know I’d do anything to protect her.
I look at my arms and fill every empty area with her name.
I continue down my chestand onto my legs.
I fill up dozens of empty spaces with her name.
It’ll be like a game ofWhere’s Waldofor her. She can spend her time under me and on top of me searching for her name. I wonder how long it’ll take her to find them all.
Once I’m filled with as much Cecilia as I have room for, I start cleaning and covering our tattoos.
I got a little carried away. I was only prepared to do her two and my ring finger, so I run out of cleaning supplies quickly. But I make sure hers are taken care of first.
At some point, I wake her long enough to get her signature.
It’s on the line right next to mine. Forever intertwining us.
And for the first time in six weeks, I feel at peace.
Because I finally have my sunshine back.
And she’ll never get away again.
Chapter 78
Cecilia
My head pounds as I open my eyes. I’m groggy and sore. The light in the room blinds me.
I try to wipe my eyes, but my right hand doesn’t move. It rests on the pillow above me. I try to yank again, but all I feel is pain in my wrist.
My eyes fly open, and I look up.
My wrist is handcuffed to the headboard.
To the headboard in our bedroom.
In the penthouse.
What the hell?
“Good morning, sunshine,” Roman calls from the doorway of our bedroom, a bright smile on his face.
He’s genuinely happy to see me.
I can’t say the same.
