Page 62 of Deadly Obsession
I also told Elias what I overheard about Chase’s next shipment, and he already has a team prepared to bust it.
Now we’re heading back to the city. We’ve been on the road for an hour and traffic is insane, so we still have another hour to go. I glance over at Elias who’s been on the phone most of the ride, barking commands at people.
I admit, it’s fucking hot seeing him in full ‘boss’ mode.
And I shouldn’t find all his scrapes and bruises sexy.
He seems to have a new one every time I see him. Like his busted lip and the small cuts on his face that he got during a brawl with his brother.
Noah told me about it and texted me photos of the aftermath. She watched them duke it out, not caring to stop them. She says they have a lot of animosity toward each other that they need to work out on their own.
Now Elias is forming a nice blue and purple bruise underneath his eye where I punched him. I snort, and he glances over at me.
“I’ll call you back,” he says to whoever he’s talking to. “What’s so funny, Chérie?”
“I really fucked up your face.”
He raises a brow my way. “You’re stronger than you think. I watched the surveillance video of you attacking my head of security last week. You know he’s dead, right?”
“What? No! I checked to make sure he was alive before I left.” I worry my lip and force back the panic crawling up my throat. “Did I really kill him?”
“No, but you could have. You hit him in the temple. He has brain damage now.”
“Elias, fuck off and be for real.”
“Fine, he doesn’t, but you could have seriously injured him.”
“You’re not funny.”
“I’m a little funny.” He laughs at his mean joke and reaches his hand out to rest it on my thigh. I’m wearingthick, plush leggings, but I can still feel the heat of his touch.
I resist the urge to squeeze my legs together because the man is making me horny by just existing. If he notices my sudden blush and my heavy breathing, he doesn’t act on it.
“What’s your real name?”
“Sage.”
He slowly rubs his palm from my knee up until he’s just inches from my pussy. I’ve instinctively spread my legs for him.
“Last name, Sage. I know it’s not Manilow.”
His fingertips graze over the seam of my leggings, and I inhale sharply. My nipples harden underneath the oversized sweater I’m wearing.
“How do you know that? Did you Google me?”
I yelp when he cups my pussy, the action fast and unexpected.
“I have a guy who does a lot more than Google. Tell me.”
He moves his hand up until reaching the waistband of my leggings, still managing to keep his eyes on the road while he slips his fingers behind the material and down until he finds me soaked for him.
“I changed it so Chase couldn’t find me.”
Ugh. And I’m just now realizing that my parents are still easily searchable. Chase never went to their Connecticut home, but he found them because I did nothing to hidetheiridentities. Maybe that’s how he found me? He could have called them posing as an old friend and my dad, none the wiser, gave him my Manhattan address.
God, I’m an idiot.
To be fair, I thought Chase would be dumber.
