He managed to hack into Chase’s burner phone and get the man’s name.
Some billionaire prick.
The top funder of this operation.
Chase’s one functional eye widens.
I backhand him, his head whipping to the side in a loud thwack. He spits blood on the ground, aiming for me, but he’s too far away for it to reach.
I shoot a text back to Phil to gather the evidence and send it around to news outlets and my contact at the FBI.
They can have him.
All we want is Chase.
He’s my gift to my wife.
“Take control, Reine,” I say, tucking my phone away. “Show this fucker who he gave up.”
Her eyes widen. “Take… take control?”
I clutch Sage’s chin.
“Order me around, Ma Chérie.”
Chapter 31 – Sage
My doubt slowly fades, replaced with determination and desire.
Elias is giving me control again.
He knows how desperately I need it right now, especially in front of the man who denied me control for years.
“Undress me. Slowly,” I say.
Elias leans in to give me a kiss, but I stop him, catching his face in a clawed grip.
“I didn’t say you could kiss me.”
I release him, and he smirks, like a brat. He glances over his shoulder, then holds up a finger.
“One second.”
Elias turns and walks to a sink behind Chase to wash his hands.
Right. He got Chase’s blood on them.
After drying his hands, Elias grabs what looks to be a helmet and puts it on Chase whose head lolls as he struggles to stay conscious.
Elias latches the helmet to chains hanging from the ceiling. I’m guessing it’s to prevent him from moving his head around. Elias then picks up a roll of tape off the torture table and tears off two pieces. Chase squeals and jerks around in his chair as Elias puts the tape on his eyelids to make sure they stay open.
“That’s sick,” I whisper. Not so much in disgust but in awe because Elias has literally thought of everything. I mean, who has a specially made helmet that prevents head movement?
I guess mafia bosses who need it for torture.
Elias pauses once he’s done, seeming to gauge my reaction. The corner of his mouth turns up.
“This turns you on, doesn’t it?”
