Page 36 of Deadly Obsession
She’s lying.
“Is that so?”
She crosses her arms and nods.
“What was your plan? Never see me again? Forget I exist as if I haven’t made you scream just by tasting that sweet cunt of yours?”
“Oh, fuck off, Elias!” she yells. “Is that all I am to you? A warm cunt?”
I step closer.
“Of course not,” I bark. “You’re a distraction, and I can’t fucking stand it.”
I grab her wrist and tug her against my body.
“Not just your cunt, but your smart-ass mouth that won’t stop challenging me, which pisses me off because Ilikethe fight. You haunt my thoughts, day and night. You’re all I fucking think about! What did you have for breakfast? Did you sleep well? Are you safe? But you don’t answer my texts, so I worry. And do you know how hard it’s been not going to you?”
Her lips tremble. Not with fear… but with something I can’t understand. Disbelief maybe? “You don’t know where I live…”
“You don’t think I couldn’t have found out? Sage,” I brush my lips over hers, “I’m a powerful man. I can get whatever I want.”
“What do you want?”
“I wantyou,Reine,” I growl and claim her mouth.
Chapter 9 – Sage
Elias’s tongue swoops past my lips and ravishes my mouth. I moan and grab hold of his suit jacket to hold myself up.
I never imagined a kiss would make me weak in the knees like some cheesy romance movie, but here I am, trying not to collapse to the floor because of Elias’s talented mouth.
This big man has me pinned to the wall, his hands cupping my face, and I don’t even care that we’re in a townhome that belongs to a scary mafia man, I’m ready to let Elias fuck me right here.
Rightnow.
A throat clears.
Del and Noah have entered the room.
I tear myself away and, in a panic, I slap Elias across the cheek.
The sound ricochets throughout the small room. I wipe my mouth and walk over to where Noah stands, ducking behind her like a fucking coward.
I peek around her and see Elias has his back to us, his hand on his face where I hit him.
“Are you okay?” Noah asks.
“I’m fine,” Elias answers.
“I was asking Sage,” Noah says, her voice full of humor.
Elias turns enough that I see the moment his frustrated and somewhat embarrassed expression from my slap turns murderous. He balls up his fists at his sides.
“She’s the one who slapped me,” he growls.
“He kissed me without my permission,” I counter.
It’s a weak and childish argument but like I said, I PANICKED. I almost fucked up. If Elias’s hands had been anywhere other than my face, he might have found the wire Chase forced me to wear.
