Page 48 of Damian & Jun, Episodes 13-16
Damian looked over Jun’s arm to see. “That’s in won or dollars?”
“Dollars.” Sevastyan winced as he confirmed the price.
“Well, fuck.” Jun put the paper down and turned back to the refrigerator, snagging cream for the coffee. “Why did they ever let him get the debt that high?”
Sevastyan grimaced. “BBB3 was a solid cash cow.”
“And now that 5N has left…”
“They called it all in and added in expenses for the botched payment in December.”
Jun growled but set the cream down carefully, rather than slamming it. His hand flexed like he wanted to punch something. “If it weren’t against my morals, I’d tell them to sell him first.”
“He wouldn’t go for twenty million.”
Jun laughed, short and angry. “Figures. How safe are the trainees? The other groups?”
“Safe, for now.” Sevastyan tipped his head to emphasize his certainty. “They want their money, and they don’t want any more legal scrutiny.”
“That’s something.” Jun offered Damian coffee. Damian accepted, touching Jun’s hands in appreciation. Jun gave him a small smile and went back to fixing the rest.
“They’re hoping you’ll take BBB3 over, after the year is up,” Sevastyan told Jun, “and give them even better payments than he’s been giving them, without the need to finance any of your vices.”
“All pay, no product.” Jun snorted. He added a dash of vanilla into one of the mugs.
Richard appeared, casually dressed. He greeted Sevastyan and accepted a mug from Jun.
“Thank you, wolfling,” Richard murmured. He brushed his lips against Jun’s hair. Jun leaned into him briefly and went back to work. Damian made up a plate for Jun and himself. A few moments later, Émeric and Collin appeared. Émeric pointed to Richard, who was just sitting at the table. Collin went to his knees beside Richard’s chair and rested his hands in his lap, eyes down.
Damian looked quickly between Émeric and Richard.
Jun offered Émeric coffee. “Does Collin get any?”
“Yes,” Émeric said. He put a hand briefly on Jun’s back. Sevastyan watched, his eyes moving between Richard, Émeric, and then landing on Damian, clearly calculating.
Damian smirked. Yes, he has all of our protection.
Sevastyan dropped his eyes. Jun asked him what he wanted in his coffee as he left a mug for Collin beside Richard’s hand.
“Cream, no sugar,” Sevastyan answered, subdued.
Jun nodded, making it up. He offered it to Sevastyan without ceremony. Sevastyan sipped it, eyes still on Jun, clearly thinking.
Jun
The birdcage was larger than Jun had anticipated. They had had to clear pews away from the center of the sanctuary to accommodate its footprint. It arrived in several pieces and was fitted back together once through the doors. A swing hung in the center.
Su-jin climbed inside and hauled himself up inside it. “Who owned this?”
Jun shook his head. “Somebody knew somebody.”
“A theater?” Jaewoong hazarded a guess.
“Kinky people.” Su-jin grinned. He leaned back, starting the swing moving back and forth. “I think we can change some of the shots now that we can see the size.”
“Put some cameras inside and let you go crazy,” Yohei said.
“You’d like that.” Su-jin grinned at Yohei.
