"How did writing go today?" asks Lionel, pulling me into his lap at his computer.

"Really well. I outlined three chapters." I wrap my arms around his neck so he doesn't spin me around again and nearly topple me off like last time.

"Is this the new sports romance one?" asks Ethan.

"Yes, and I already have a whole list of questions to research. Maybe one of these days I'll start a gamer one too. But I'd probably need your help with that one."

"Maybe you need us to help you with a few other things for your book too," says Helix, rolling his chair up next to us and tugging my shirt up over my head.

"Oh definitely," I agree. "If I'm going to have my heroine won over by two book boyfriends, then I'm going to need double the hands-on research for them."

"Perfect, because we're here to help," says Lionel.

"I don't know who keeps feeding Goobus all the extra treats, but he's getting chonky," says Miles, holding the cat as he comes into the computer den.

When we'd first brought Goobus home from the shelter, he was super skinny and underweight, but now he's overflowing in Miles's arms. His fur is long and flowing and his face is perfectly serene. He loves being carried around, and views all of us as his little lackeys.

"You know Goobus isn't allowed in the computer room," complains Ethan, but it's halfhearted. "He always tries to turn off our computers."

"It's not our fault that he insists he hasn't been fed," says Quintin, coming in behind Miles with an energy drink in his hand.

"Then when Goobus has a hard time getting up the stairs to bed, you're going to be the one to carry him," Miles shoots back.

"Wait, Clarissa's shirt is off," says Quintin, moving closer. "What are we doing?"

"Whatever we want," says Helix, chuckling.

Miles sets Goobus down gently, Quintin puts down his drink, and then there are five sets of hands on me, exactly the way it should be.
