“Don’t stop,” she begs, and as much as I love hearing it, I also know I can’t take this any further, not tonight anyway.
When I pull back, she growls my name, and I swear she almost slits my throat in her anger.
“Don’t even think about it,la mia piccola vipera.”
“What the hell does that mean?” She growls the words, pissed that I’m not letting her come.
I lift my eyes to hers and give her a wink, and in return she gives me an adorable scowl.
“My little viper,” I tell her. “Fitting, no?”
“Don’t test me, Dario. I’d be more than happy to sink my teeth back into you.”
“Don’t tease me too much, sweetheart. I’m barely hanging onto my willpower as is.”
With an irritated growl, she takes the knife away from my neck and slides it back under the pillow. She tries to turn away from me, but I keep her right where she’s at.
“Your brother stopped by.” I lower my head and place a kiss on her stomach. “He said he’d pick you up in the morning.”
She brings her other hand to my head and runs herfingers through my hair, massaging my scalp in a way that has me closing my eyes while I kiss her stomach again, slowly making my way up her body.
“You are a drug, streghetta mia, and I’m quickly becoming addicted.” I murmur the words against her skin, stopping when I get to her breasts. “A constant fucking temptation,” I groan before pressing a kiss to each of her pierced nipples.
“Then stop resisting and give in,” she begs, and goddamn do I want to, but one of us needs to be reasonable, and since I’m the much older one here, the responsibility falls to me.
I kiss the center of her chest, allowing myself this last taste of her before I roll onto my side and wrap my arm around her waist, pulling her up against me so I’m spooning her from behind.
“Thanks so much for waking me up for nothing,” she mutters while giving the blankets an angry tug.
“Sorry, streghetta mia, I promise I’ll make it up to you in two weeks.”
“You damn well better,” she growls.
I kiss her neck and ask, “How’s your arm?”
“It’s fine. I found some ibuprofen in your bathroom and took a couple.”
Dragging my nose along her shoulder, I say, “I’m sorry I forgot to give them to you.”
“I don’t need you to take care of me.”
She sounds angry, so I give her shoulder a soft bite, letting my teeth slowly graze her skin. “Get some sleep,” I tell her, resisting the urge to argue by insisting I’m going to be taking care of her whether she likes it or not. “Try not to stab me while I’m sleeping,” I add, remembering the knife under her pillow.
“No fucking promises,” she mutters.
Grinning, I reach over and shut off the light before pulling her even tighter against me. I’m breaking every rule by doing this, but I no longer give a fuck because the first chance I get, I’m going to be doing a lot more than just sleeping next to her.
I’m still painfully hard, and I know she feels me pressing againsther ass, but I keep my arms wrapped tightly around her, not allowing her the opportunity to do anything crazy like turn around and straddle me. I’ll be done for if she does that, so I hold her until she finally falls asleep, but even then I can’t bring myself to let her go.
I drift off with Mia’s body tucked in tightly against mine, the feel of her heart against my hand and the scent of her all around me, and wondering how in the hell I’m going to be able to let her go in the morning.
Chapter 6
Mia
Dario is sprawled on his back, one arm still possessively wrapped around me while his hand palms my ass cheek like he owns it.
God, the man is gorgeous. Even in a deep sleep he manages to take my breath away. With my head resting in my hand and my thigh hiked over his, I study him, enjoying this rare moment of being able to watch him as much as I want without him knowing about it. I want to lean over and kiss my way along his chiseled jaw, feeling the light stubble beneath my lips before hitting the smooth, olive skin of his chest. He has enough chest hair to look sexy without it making me want to cringe, and the thin trail leading into his joggers is enticing me like nothing else ever has.
