“He’s okay. Just wants his mom,” Sawyer smiles at me.
“Have you eaten?” Pike asks.
“No, I was afraid that something was put in the food.”
Sawyer calls Santorini asking if we can order pizza or if they can order pizza.
“Whatever you want. There is a separate driveway and address for your bungalow. She only eats what I give her, though.”
“Of course. We’re hungry. She’s busy with something else,” Sawyer laughs, though it’s fake.
“Good, she’ll be of good use. We leave in the morning on my private plane.”
“We’ll be ready.”
He hangs up and then calls a pizza place. Pike finds something to watch on TV and then hands me his phone.
“They’re waiting for your call. We didn’t know if we would see you, we thought we would be rescuing you after tomorrow.”
“I’m grateful he took me today,” I say.
“Call them,” Pike urges me, and I dial Zion’s number.
“Any news?” I hear his voice and I nearly lose it.
“I’m here,” I whisper and there’s silence on the other end. I almost think he hung up on me.
“Plum?” I hear York’s voice.
“I’m here,” I say a little louder.
“Fuck, love. We are losing our minds over here,” Greer says.
“Me too,” I say.
“This is it, no more bad guys for you,” Zion says and I chuckle a little.
“Almost over and then we want to show you how much we care,” York says.
“All of you?” I ask.
“All of us,” Zion echoes.
“I am ready to come home,” I tell them.
“You don’t hate us?” Zion asks.
“Why would I hate you?”
“We didn’t keep you safe,” York whispers.
“You all tried. I don’t want you to hate me,” I tell them.
“Why would we hate you?” Greer asks.
“I am the one putting your club at risk,” I tell them.
“Oh, little one, we will always try our best to keep you safe. You’re ours, now. Club takes the risk. You don’t know how much you impacted these guys’ lives in such a short time. Gator won’t even make us gator until you get home.”
