“You don’t look old,” Ziggy remarks.
“I’m 30.”
“Yeah, not old,” Ziggy mutters.
“How can you help?” Zion asks.
“I was supposed to be here when they took Plum, but I was held up at the police station with a confidant. I will call Santo and figure out where to go. I will get her back for you.”
“What do we do?” Zion asks him. I think we’re in over our heads here, but we need to get Plum back.
“For now, wait,” he says.
“I’m not sure my dad can do that,” Ziggy points at Zion.
“He’s going to have to learn,” Beck chuckles.
“Dick,” Zion mutters.
“Let me make my call and then we can set up a plan,” Beck pulls out his phone and puts it on speaker.
“Where were you?” An angry voice answers the call.
“I got pulled over,” Beck shrugs as though the man can see him.
“Get to Corpus Christi, there’s an abandoned warehouse near the World War II memorial.”
“I’ll be there in two-and-a-half.” Beck hangs up.
“Get Capone, we need him and Rip,” Zion barks out as Ziggy makes the call.
“Army, you and Pike get supplies, just in case,” I tell them, and Pike shows the man into the clinic. Pike will come in handy.
“I have a chapter there. I’ll call my guys and have them start casing it out,” Zion says as he pulls out his phone to call Hammer, the president in that area.
“How’s Sawyer?” Beck asks.
“Trying to make amends,” I tell him.
“I hope to do the same after this. I have lots to atone for, but Plum was the worst of my sins.”
“Was it worth it?” Stetson asks him.
“If it brings down a big cartel, then yeah,” Beck nods.
Tex rolls back up on his bike and tosses a shotgun shell at me.
“Too far to really reach that distance, they weren’t shooting at you. They were just causing chaos,” Tex says.
“Real ballsy in broad daylight,” Ziggy says.
“We’re kind of secluded at this end of the center,” Pike says as he rejoins us.
“Hammer is getting his guys together. Dixon, go home with Pike and Army, be ready. Jace, I need you to get us a lay of the land from above. Get on that. The rest of us will ride out and meet up with Capone.”
“You all follow me,” Beck instructs, “then you can raise hell.”
“Got it. Let’s ride.”
