She snored again.

“By all the sins that damn me,” I hissed under my breath.

This was going to be more difficult than I initially thought. Not only would I forever be surrounded by her squawking friends, Eden was turning out to be difficult in her own way. She was asleep. Now. When I had no doubt this marriage had turned her life upside down.

I pushed off the bed and planted my fists on my hips. My face turned up to the gods as I cursed them for this. This had to be their doing. No demon would ever think to damn me in a way that would be so unpleasurable.

My magic was a heat I needed as it moved over me, freeing me of this restricting mortal flesh. My hooves were silent on her dark hardwood as I paced with my head slightly bowed, careful not to carve any more marks in her ceilings.

That I even thought to spare her ceilings was ridiculous. Who cared about ceilings?

That thought paused me as I rubbed at the empty cavity of my chest.

“Fuck,” I muttered the curse.

My pacing slowly brought me closer and closer to her bed. She was a magnet that pulled me against my will. My mind was flurried with thoughts of her. I began to wonder what she liked to do when her heart wasn’t beating in fear. What sorts of things filled her day before they decided to mess with things they could never begin to understand?

Shrieking began once more downstairs.

Do these women never quiet?

The thought of their chaos waking Eden before she was ready bothered me. That I was bothered at all bothered me further.

A growl rumbled through my chest as I wrapped my hands lightly around her upper arms and lowered her back against her plush pillows. There were too many, and I wondered for a moment if they were all supposed to be there. Eden was still practically sitting against them as I looked her over.

A crease dented the space between her brows as she frowned in sleep.

“Olivia! Let go!” Someone yelled below.

“Get her legs!” Someone else yelled.

“I’m trying!”

A sigh left me as my thumbs — with their long black talons — gently rubbed up the length of her arms.

Another scream and a loud thud shook the floor.

Eden’s eyes snapped open and she jolted up. The quick motion was unexpected, startling me as I realized standing before her in my true form when she was already struggling to accept me wasn’t ideal. In all my haste, I made a slight miscalculation.

All her attention was on the thickness hanging between my legs, the meat her hand had just slapped.

“Did you just…” This was not the time to ask questions but I was bound by my shock. By the heat that moved through me and made me thicken the longer she stared. She just slapped my dick.

With a shake of her head, Eden remembered herself and grabbed a pillow. She shoved it at me, hiding me from her view. “Summon yourself some clothes, demon boy!”

Another growl rumbled through me as I coated myself with my magic and rectified my miscalculation. I was once again clad in dark jeans and sneakers with a simple dark t-shirt. I huffed an annoyed breath when she kept her eyes squeezed closed.
