Chapter 17
Addie
Aside from his mossy green eyes fireworked with golden flecks, the man was unremarkable.
Large nose on a small face, crooked teeth stained yellow, dimples that resembled balls on his chin. Still, the man exuded power and strength, even tied up. I didn’t know how. He wasn’t overly muscular, nor did he have battle scars on his face. There was just something about him, something that caused my heart to clench in terror.
Fallon wasted no time. “Who sent you?”
The man surprised all of us when he dropped his head back and laughed. “Fallon, Fallon, Fallon. Aren’t you tired of babysitting a bunch of children?”
Fallon jerked back as if he had been physically slapped. Coming from a man who had spent his life hiding behind an impassive front, that reaction said it all.
The man wasn’t supposed to know his name.
“Who are you?” he asked again, composing himself. Once more, he took a threatening step closer, looming over the prisoner with a venomous look in his eyes. I would be cowed, fearful, at being on the receiving end of such a look. I had to give the man credit: he had more balls than I ever had, even when I was a fake boy named Lil’ One Punch.
“Call me Garrett,” the man answered easily. Too easily. There was no doubt in my mind that “Garrett” was a fake name.
“Well, Garrett,” Fallon sneered, Garrett’s name sounding like poison coming from his lips. “How do you know my name? Who sent you?”
“So many questions.” He tsked his tongue disapprovingly. “Have you figured out nothing yet?”
“I figured out that I want to cut off your balls, shove them so far up your ass that they’re coming out your mouth in a demented form of anal, and then feed your cock to a gorilla,” Ryder deadpanned.
Garrett gave him a scathing glare that quickly turned curious. “Young Ryder. And is that your brother, Ronan?”
Both men tensed under his scrutiny. I didn’t blame them. It was unnerving to be the focal point of such a dangerous man.
A man who I had taken out with my bare hands. Not trying to toot my own horn or anything…
But a pat on the back for me.
Badass status achieved.
Finally, the man turned to me. His gaze trailed up and down my body, obvious interest flashing in his eyes. Asher moved behind me, possessively wrapping an arm around my waist. Garrett’s eyes latched onto that, not missing a thing.
“And the girl of the hour herself! Adelaide! Or is it Addie?”
“It’s nothing to you,” Ronan snapped.
Declan moved to stand on one side of me, and Tamson on the other. With Asher at my back, I was fully encased in the warmth of my men.
Garrett’s eyes glimmered in the artificial lighting. Real lighting, not the flames of a candle. The outpost was fortunate to have a generator for electricity.
His lips tilted upwards.
“Is she that good of a fuck, or are you guys-” Before he could finish his statement, Tamson lunged forward and punched Garrett straight in the face.
The crazy prisoner merely laughed, spitting out blood from his mouth.
“I take that as a yes. A good fuck.”
Tamson surged forward again, fist extended, but Fallon held him back, seemingly reluctant to do so. He whispered something to my red-headed lover that I couldn’t hear before releasing him. With a huff, Tamson smoothed down his shirt, met my eyes, and blushed a deep red. I held out my hand for him, the one Declan wasn’t gripping in a steel vise, and Tamson took it, squeezing once.
Once more, Garrett followed our interaction with amused eyes.
“Who’s your friend?” Fallon continued the interrogation, changing tactics. He nodded towards the blond-haired man still slumped forward in his seat.
