Story: Seeing Red

They spoke at the same time and my eyes jumped between them. Then back to the cat. Noah smiled softly at the pet like it was the only thing in the room.

Yea, they had a cat. There was no way Greyson saw how much Noah adored this animal and wouldn’t let him have it.

Obsessing over the dainty cat delayed my body’s reaction to being around Greyson. But suddenly, the two of us were alone in his office after Noah scooped up the cat and he was staring at me.

I bought myself time by looking around his office, avoiding his molten gaze.

His office was the perfect reflection of his space at home. Dark paint and furniture that somehow didn’t give off gloomy vibes because of the floor to ceiling windows he seemed to favor.

“Noah told me to wait in here for a minute,” I offered awkwardly.

Greyson didn’t speak. What he did was walk past me, to his office door and turn the lock.

“Sit down, True. Let’s talk.”

“I’m good with standing,” I answered, chin up, voice firm.

Greyson circled me like I was his prey, tugging on his tie until it was undone and hanging around his neck in a loose loop. When I looked at his neck, the only thing I remembered was the way I’d sucked it last night when he made me come on his dick.

I fingered my own collar, suddenly warm in a way that had nothing to do with the heat coming through the hotel’s vents.

“Did you find a dress?” he asked, dangerously close to the shell of my ear.

If I turned my head in the slightest, his lips would make contact with my skin.

“I bought three,” I told him, waiting for any visible reaction.

All I got was a smile that felt dangerous when he finally stood in front of me again.

He stared at me, assessing me with a calculated calm only he could pull off.

“Your card is in my wallet. But I left it in Noah’s truck. I can go get?—”

“I don’t give a fuck about that card, True. Keep it.”

“But it’s yours.” My rebuttal made his lips curl again, and that crater in his cheek appeared.

“You left me this morning,” he said, refusing to acknowledge my last words. He clamped his hand around my chin, tilting my head back so I could see the storm in his eyes.

“You’re upset.” I blinked rapidly, trying to clear the fog in my brain that hadn’t been there a moment ago.

“Nah, True. I’m not upset, but you got me fucked up if you think you’re sneaking out of my bed again.”

Kissing my teeth, I shook my head. “I won’t have to because we’re not doing that again.”

He scoffed before the dark notes of his quiet laughter bathed my skin in goosebumps.

“We are. And it’s gonna be because you want it. The same way you wanted it last night.”

“I told you it was once.”

“And I told you that was bullshit. Ask me for anything else but that, True.Anything else.”

His thumb moved over my bottom lip. Not softly. Roughly. Like he was intentionally trying to make a mess of my mouth and I just let him, caught up in the magnetic pull of his arrogant possession.

My lips parted on their own, waiting for a kiss I wasn’t sure he would give me.

“You want me to kiss you right now,” he stated calmly, dropping his hold on my face and staring at me with a knowing look.
