Story: Saving the Pack's Omega
I feel the sting of a needle in my arm, and a lot of uncomfortable tugging, but I don’t dare look over at what Charlotte is doing.
“Fuck, she went through that conscious and unmedicated?” Archer mumbles to Chase.
“You’re a fucking trooper,” Chase says, leaning over from the back of the couch to touch my bare legs.
It seems they’re drawn to physical touch in the same way I am. Their protective instincts must be going crazy.
“All done,” Charlotte says, tying gauze around my arm again.
There’s a beep from the device she was using earlier and she picks it up from the coffee table.
A small gasp leaves the back of her throat.
“What?” Archer growls, his dominance going a bit haywire.
“Calm down, that’s my sister,” Chase growls, gripping Archer’s arm.
“It’s fine,” Charlotte coughs, waving a hand in front of her face. “This is more important. Bad news, Luna. You were getting better, but whatever they gave you is fucking with your hormones. You have to bond with your guys during this heat or you’ll never be able to.”
“What!” Kane grunts, his hands flexing against my burning skin.
“Shut up,” Charlotte snaps. “I can’t send you away so she can make this decision in peace since your presence is helping her, but be quiet. Luna needs to be the one to make this decision.”
I blink, trying to clear my vision as I look at the four of them.
“Will—will you bond with me? Please?” I whisper.
“Yes.” They say unanimously.
“You don’t need to say please, Luna,” Archer says, a bitter smile on his lips. “We’re yours. Ever since you came into our lives.”
My lips tug up in a genuine smile, the first I’ve had since I was kidnapped.
“Okay,” Charlotte says, clapping her hands. “The nest is down the hallway, everything’s been cleaned and ready to go. There’s some food in the fridge, but I’ll bring up more later so you guys can stock up. Don’t be too rough with her arm. If you guys don’t need anything more, I’ll leave you guys to it.”
“Thank you, Charlotte,” I croak out.
“Of course, Luna,” she says, waving at me before starting to pack up her stuff.
Chase appears in front of me with a bottle of water. I gulp it down greedily as Kane stands, heading down to the nest down the hall, the other three guys following behind us.
For some reason, the knowledge that my four alphas are going to take care of me, give me their knots, and bond with me eases my nerves. The pain has dulled slightly. Enough for me to think more, at least.
“Oh my god, I never asked, are you okay?” I ask Madden.
“Things were a little scary for a bit, but I’m okay now, Angel,” he says, softly.
“O—Okay, I’m glad. I was so worried about you.”
Kane sets me down on the nest. There’s a small tremble in mybottom lip when I look around. It’s a nice nest, I’m not saying I’m ungrateful or that it’s bad.
It’s just not my nest.
The guys seem to be able to read my mind.
“The house is being rebuilt as we speak. You’ll have a nest of your own, we promise,” Kane purrs soothingly. “You shouldn’t worry about that now, though. All you need to worry about is us taking care of you.”
Kane sets me down so I’m lying back against the soft blankets and pillows. As I stare up at the four of them, my soon-to-be bonded mates, my perfume grows even thicker in the air.
