Story: Saving the Pack's Omega
“I have a good reason,” I mutter. “Plus, no offense, but I heal faster than all three of you. Isn’t that shit connected to dominance levels?”
“Yeah, I think so, you’d have to ask my sister,” Chase says, leaning back in his seat.
“So I’ll be fine a lot sooner than the normal beta,” I argue. “Let me do this shit, okay? I—I can’t just sit here and do nothing.”
“Okay, man, whatever you want to do,” Chase sighs.
CHAPTER 43
Luna
Being kidnapped sucks, but it’s also boring. I’m not unfamiliar with days spent locked away in a cold, damp basement with nothing but the clothes on my back, but I’ve been spoiled staying with the Ward Pack. Or even my time at the Omega Center.
At the pack house, my time was spent surrounded by what felt like an endless amount of books from Kane’s library, or learning new recipes in their kitchen, or watching videos on the tablet Madden first gave me.
Even at the Omega Center, I spent my days taking classes and learning about how to function alone, both physically and emotionally. I got to figure out what it was like, for the most part, not having expectations, both from myself and from other people.
Now all I have to pass the time is fitful sleep and sending myself into an anxious spiral thinking about what happened to the Ward Pack and what’ll happen to me.
The guards don’t really interact with me. The only time they have was that one time they let me use the bathroom.
The door slams open and Alpha Niall’s burning plastic scentfills the room. My head jerks up from where I was resting it on my knees, curled up into a ball.
His scent is more acrid than usual. He’s upset.
“There’re police sniffing around my properties more than they should,” he hisses.
A flutter of hope sparks in my chest. Did Reyna manage to reach out to my pack? Are they coming to save me? Did they tell the police what’s going on?
“We have to rush things,” Alpha Niall growls.
My hope is instantly shattered as he takes a menacing step toward me. I don’t know what he has planned, but knowing him, it’s not good. Especially because this gives the pack less time to find me before I’m moved to a different location. Or find me before Alpha Niall does something irreversible, like try and start a bond with me.
I know from a class I took at the Omega Center that both parties have to agree in order for a full bond to be formed, but that doesn’t stop alphas from trying. If he did that, that would probably hurt my chances of ever bonding with the Ward Pack. My pack. The pack I want to be with.
“What—what do you mean?” I ask, clenching my hands into fists and pressing them into the backs of my thighs to keep them from trembling.
“Stay still,” Alpha Niall barks.
All the muscles in my body freeze and my pulse starts racing. I try to fight it, but I can’t. I must be too weak from hunger and thirst. A single water bottle and granola bar can only go so far after what feels like a few days of captivity. Or maybe he’s right and there’re just certain commands that I can’t disobey as an omega.
He crouches down in front of me, wrenching my neck to the side and pulling out a syringe.
An involuntary whimper leaves my throat at the sight of it. I hate the noise. It makes me feel weak and pathetic. I guess I hate it because it’s a reminder of what I am.
He injects it into my neck. I don’t know whether it’s because this is different than whatever those mercenaries injected me with when they first kidnapped me or because I have less adrenaline running through my system than before, but it hurts.
Instead of the cold I felt pumping through my veins at the sedative from last time, it feels like lava is flowing through my body. It burns.
A gasp of pain leaves my throat and a hand flies to cup the injection site when Alpha Niall releases me from his bark.
“Now then, my little omega whore, will you agree to bond with me?” He growls.
My chest starts to tremble as I start hyperventilating, my entire body starting to feel like it’s burning up. “N—no,” I grit out.
“Ha! I wonder how long you’ll be able to hold out,” he laughs, baring his teeth at me in a crazed grin. “That drug I just injected you with? It’s the finest artificial heat inducer in the market. You were biologically made to be submissive to alphas like me. Why else would you have something like a heat? Something that turns you into a mindless set of holes, begging for an alpha’s cock?”
I shake my head, my vision starting to grow hazy around the edges. At first, I think it’s because I’m crying, but I realize my vision is still hazy even after I try blinking the tears away. It must be because of the drugs.
